Four Points by Sheraton Johor Bahru - Johor
Four Points by Sheraton Johor Bahru is located in Bandar Baru Seri Alam, quite a distance from Johor Bahru’s main city area and popular tourist spots. It may not be the most convenient option for travellers who want quick access to shopping malls, cafés, nightlife, or the Singapore checkpoint. However, it works well for business travellers or guests visiting nearby industrial and commercial areas who prefer a quieter environment.
The parking area is at LG1, and entry is managed through an automatic number plate recognition system that scans vehicles upon arrival. During check-in, we only needed to register our car plate at the front desk. Once registered, exiting the car park was very smooth, as the barrier automatically detected the vehicle and opened without the need for a ticket or payment, making the whole process hassle-free.
From the parking area, there were a few steps leading up to the lift lobby. The hotel had two lifts, and both were operational during our stay. However, each side of the building was served by a single lift, so guests might still need to walk to the other side depending on their room location. To access the room floor, we had to scan the room key card inside the lift. One thing to note was that the room corridors were open-air and not air-conditioned, which could feel quite warm when walking to and from the rooms.
We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights in a deluxe guest room with a separate living area and a private balcony. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The bed and pillows were comfortable, making it easy to rest well throughout the stay. The smart TV was a nice feature, offering around 31 channels and the flexibility to rotate between the bedroom and living area. However, there was no proper working desk in the room, only a coffee table and couch, which may not be ideal for guests who need to work. We also encountered an issue with the balcony door, which could not be locked after opening. After informing the staff, a technician arrived quickly and fixed it on the spot.
The bathroom had hot water, but the water pressure was quite low. There was also limited space in the shower area for toiletries, which made it slightly inconvenient. Drinking water was not provided in the room and had to be requested from the front desk, after which it was delivered promptly.
The gym was located on the ground floor and was accessible 24 hours. The swimming pool was located at LG2, although it was not clearly signposted. The pool was operated and managed by Anjung Seri Residence and shared with hotel guests. It is worth noting that there was no lifeguard on duty at the pool.
Overall, the stay was comfortable and relaxing, with a spacious and clean room, comfortable bedding, and helpful staff. However, there were a few drawbacks such as limited signage, low water pressure, lack of a proper workspace, and a few design inconveniences. Despite these, the quick response from the staff and maintenance team made the experience more pleasant.
