Baldivis Chinese BBQ Restaurant - Perth, Western Australia

We were in Perth for two weeks and finally it was our last day here. Our flight has been reschedule for evening departure instead of afternoon departure and luckily the airline informed us one day in advance via sms followed by a phone call the next day. Well, look on the bright side. At least we still have a few more hours for last minute shopping spree. We had our lunch at Baldivis Chinese BBQ Restaurant before we went to a mall nearby to get our last minute shopping done. We ordered shrimp fried rice, roast duck, BBQ pork, mix vegetables, sweet & sour pork and curry king prawn. I like the shrimp fried rice and curry king prawn. Prawns were fresh with mild curry sauce. Overall lunch was okay except for the sweet and sour pork which I find the batter too thick for my liking. Apart from that, BBQ pork has this strong "porky" taste which I don't really fancy. Steel Tree @ The Foreshore - Perth, Western Australia

Image
We were looking for a Western cafe for lunch and finally decided on Steel Tree @ The Foreshore. It was a great choice because food was good and at the same time after lunch we get to stroll along Rockingham beach. We ordered their  Beef Stroganoff,  Chicken Parmigiana and Steam Sambo. My favourite was the  Chicken Parmigiana. Crumb chicken breast was moist, tender and most importantly lightly coated. Their $ 12 autumn menu only comes with crumbed chicken breast topped with rich  napolitana sauce and melted mozzarella. You need to top up $3 each for additional chips or salad. On the other hand, my partner and his sister enjoyed their Steak Sambo and Beef  Stroganoff. Steak Sambo comes with tender steak, bacon, lettuce, tomato, cheese, tomato relish, fried egg, Turkish bread and chips. Whereas Beef  Stroganoff  comes with slow cooked  beef with mushrooms, onions and garlic in a creamy sauce served with steamed rice. Steel Tree @ The Foreshore Restaurant ambience

Jamie's Italian - Perth, Western Australia

Image
I've always wanted to try Jamie's Italian restaurant. I finally got the chance to go and I'm glad I did. We were there during lunch time and they have this Jamie's Super Lunch deal from 12pm to 6pm, Monday to Saturday - $ 25 for two courses or $ 30 for three courses. It was indeed a good deal. We had the $ 30 for three courses and ordered Truffle  Tagliatelle as our starter. It's one of their famous homemade pasta served in a silky black truffle butter with Parmesan, nutmeg and shaved black truffle. It was our first time eating a dish with truffles and it turned out okay. However, pasta was a bit hard for my liking. We choose I talian steak & fries as our mains and it was good. This dish comes with grilled m arinated rump steak served with garlic butter, slaw and fries.  The rump was thinly sliced, cooked perfectly like we wanted - medium well without any blood. It was tender and juicy. Apart from that, fries were tasty too.  As for our dessert selection w

Dolphin Quay, Mandurah - Perth, Western Australia

Image
Two years later we are back to Dolphin Quay a t the Mandurah Ocean Marina. We strolled along the waterfront  and had our lunch at Cicerello's. We ordered their crayfish promotion comes with half crayfish cooked in a delicious creamy garlic sauce, au gratin, served with one piece of lightly battered fish and salt & pepper floured squid strips. Meal served with salad and chips as well. Crayfish resembling small lobsters also known as freshwater lobster and only a small portion of the body is edible. This dish was good. Crayfish was fresh and it was a perfect combination with the creamy garlic sauce. Squid was nice too. Soft and juicy. Apart from that, we ordered  Barramundi  and snapper. Both were lightly battered but I prefer Barramundi because it has a buttery texture, sweet taste and soft with white flaky flesh.
