Restaurant Four Star Seafood - Klang

Image
We were supposed to have our dinner gathering at Kali Little Garden Seafood Restaurant located at Pandamaran, Klang. However, the restaurant was closed when we reached there on a Monday evening. So, we ended up at Restaurant Four Star Seafood located just next to it. The lady boss was very friendly and most of the dishes were recommended by her. The restaurant was quite empty when we reached there around 7pm. We ordered their signature homemade tofu in Thai sauce, served with shredded cucumber, onions and tomatoes. It's delicious. I love the tofu and the Thai sauce. Tofu is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, while Thai sauce is very appetizing with the sweet and sour taste. We were shocked when they served the tofu because the dish was so huge but we managed to finish the whole dish up. Do not leave this dish too long because the tofu tend to soften and become mushy. Fried mee hoon or rice vermicelli with fried fish was good too. Fish is fresh and crispy but mee hoo...

Tian Lee Seafood Restaurant - Port Klang

Image
This restaurant is well-known for its balitong and mee mamak. Balitong is a type of sea snail but very few people dare to eat it including me. In order to get the meat out of the shell, you gotta suck the end of the shell that has been chopped off. I have a phobia that I might suck something else out of the shell instead of the sea snail! Since most of us dare not eat, we didn't order this dish. We reached the restaurant before 6pm and it was almost full. Simple restaurant covered with zinc roof, cement flooring and simple plastic tables and chairs. It feels like we're inside the oven because it's so hot and stuffy. We ended up sitting outside the restaurant. Parking is very limited and some parked along the road. We ordered their famous mee mamak and it was good. It's spicy, slightly sweet and wet. Fried tofu stuffed with meat was good too. Served with Thai sweet chili sauce, shredded cucumber and topped with crushed peanut. Other dishes that we ordered such as ...

Restaurant Bubur Goreng - Klang

Image
This shop is famous for their fried porridge and steamed clams. I've never heard of this restaurant until recently my best buddy suggested it for dinner. This restaurant is located at Taman Berkeley Klang, surrounded by housing area. Simple restaurant without air conditioning and not too crowded with people. Maybe because we went there during weekdays! We ordered a bowl of fried porridge, stir fried lettuce and kam heong clams. Suppose we wanted to order their famous steamed clams, unfortunately they're out of big clams. So, we decided to try their kam heong clams. (smaller clams compared to steamed clams) Their kam heong clams turned out to be good. Fresh clams stir fried with delicious kam heong sauce. However, my favourite kam heong clams still at  New Paris Restaurant . Highlight dish of the night was the fried porridge. It's delicious. I really enjoyed it. This dish consists of porridge, yam cubes, tofu cubes, dried shrimps, pork lard, topped with spring onions...

Restaurant 99 - Klang

Image
What I love about this Restoran 99 is their curry fish fillet and yellow wine chicken with ginger. Most people will order curry fish head but we preferred fish fillet instead. Delicious curry fish fillet comes with lady's finger, long beans, onions, brinjal, and tau fu pok (deep fried tofu). Fish was fresh and spicy level was just right for me.  Restaurant 99's yellow wine (in cantonese it is called wong chow) chicken with ginger was good too. The yellow wine was not that strong and the whole combination of yellow wine, ginger and soy sauce were perfect. Apart from this, we have also tried their mantis shrimp, taufu with vegetables, yau mak, and sweet potato leaves. Overall the food was ok. Remark: Price shown below before implementation of GST. Restoran 99 Yellow wine chicken - RM 16 Mantis shrimp - RM 21 Curry fish fillet - RM 47 Taufu with vegetables - RM 13 Yau mak - RM 10 Sweet potato leaves - R...

Village Seafood House - Klang

Image
One of our friends just opened a seafood restaurant in Klang. So, here we are at his restaurant to give him our full support! Before our arrival, he has pre-ordered all his house specialities - house special bean curd, steamed fish, pork ribs and steamed herbal chicken specially cooked for us (not available in the menu yet). My favourite dish is the house special bean curd or tofu. This dish comes with bean curds, shredded carrots, enoki mushrooms and shiitake mushrooms. What I like about this dish is the bean curd. It tastes like seafood tofu or bean curd mixed with fish paste. It's a secret ingredient that my friend do not wish to be revealed. Next, is the house special steamed fish with thick gravy. This dish comes with onions, spring onions, garlic, cili padi and lime. Strong flavour of lime and onions. You will love this dish if you are a big fan of onion and lime. Besides that, fresh and green stir fried kangkung or water spinach...

Restoran Teluk Pulai (Clay Pot) Ba Kut Teh - Klang

Image
One of my favourite bak kut teh shop in Klang is this Restoran Teluk Pulai (Clay Pot) Ba Kut Teh. Some called it the Taman Rashna Bak Kut Teh. This restaurant served both dry and soup version of bak kut teh during breakfast and lunch. We ordered 2 portions of the small bones (direct translation from hokkien - suay kut). Seems that this "suay kut" is located somewhere around the pork's leg. The meat was really tender. It came with fats as well (really big piece of fat!) and of course a small piece of bone. By the way, you get to choose your preferred cut meat when you placed your order. If you are not sure which part of the pork to order, just ask the staff. The clay pot soup version consists of meat, vegetables, button mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, beancurd and tau pok (deep-fat fried tofu). You can also choose to add on the enoki mushrooms or fish balls. My favourite and must add on is the fi...

Restoran Fatty Mee Hoon Kuih House - Klang

Image
My first visit to this Fatty Mee Hoon Kuih House was back in 1997. Gosh... How time flies! One of my friend introduced me to this shop and was told that this is the best mee hoon kuih in Klang. The shop is always crowded with people. During lunch or dinner time, you will have to wait for at least 30 to 45 minutes! A small bowl of mee hoon kuih cost RM3.50, large - RM3.70 and extra large - RM4.00. Additional egg and fried onion cost RM0.50 each and additional vegetables, anchovies and pork/liver cost RM1.00 each. The mee hoon kuih is cooked separately - one cooking pot for one bowl of mee hoon kuih. A group of three workers will stand infront of the cooking pots (at least 4 cooking pots), flatten the dough with their palm and tear the mee hoon kuih into pieces by hand. The mee hoon kuih is then cooked in the boiling broth served with slices of pork, pork liver, vegetables, egg (additional order) and anchovies. I preferred to separate the anchovi...

Noble House Seafood Restaurant - Klang

Image
Nobel House Seafood Restaurant is located in Klang town nearby Ko Skin Specialist. I have never tried the food in this restaurant until a good friend of mine brought us there. We ordered a plate of fried tang hoon, Noble house special noodles, marmite chicken, chinese spinach in superior soup and prawn coated with salty egg yolk. My favourite dishes were the fried tang hoon and the prawn coated with salty egg yolk. The fried tang hoon or known as glass noodles (transparent noodle made from starch and water) were good. Not too soggy and not too hard. Apart from that, the salty egg yolk prawns were delicious. The prawns were big, fresh and juicy. The chinese spinach in superior soup consists of spinach, wolfberries, century eggs and fried anchovies was delicious too. Besides that, the marmite chicken was well marinated and very flavourful but I find it a bit salty unless you eat it with rice. The Noble house special noodles or known as "che hoon khen" in hokkien i...
