Cameron Highlands - Day 3

Image
On our last day in Cameron Highlands, we were determined to squeeze in a few more eating spots before leaving. After checking out of the  Zenith Hotel at 11.11am, we headed to The Lord’s Cafe. It's a cozy cafe known for its cream scones, located just a 6-minute walk (500m) from the hotel. The cafe is on the first floor, and a small staircase leads you up to this old-fashioned interior, almost like stepping back in time. We ordered a cream scone served warm with butter, homemade strawberry jam, and whipped cream, along with a cup of Cameron Valley Tea. The scone was slightly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a texture similar to the biscuit base of a cheesecake. Both the scone and strawberry jam were good. The combination of butter, cream, and jam made each bite rich and indulgent. The tea was light, even after adding milk, but it went well with the scone. It was the best way to begin our final day. On our second day in Cameron Highlands, we initially planned to have brunch at the restaurant next to Mr. Aisu. However, it was closed for cleaning. So we headed to He Ping Xiao Shi Restaurant instead, which was just a 4-minute walk (220m) from Mr. Aisu. After we ordered our food, we saw flies flying around, and there were a few sticky fly traps set on the cashier counter. The food was decent, but the lady running the place was unfriendly. My partner ordered their signature dry curry pork noodles, which came with bean sprouts and curry pork. The curry wasn't very spicy, and it was rather nice. Whereas I ordered the claypot yee mee, which included slices of fish cakes, a raw egg, and minced pork. It tasted like regular yee mee, though I felt very thirsty afterward. For drinks, my partner had teh c ping kosong (no sugar). His drink was smooth and creamy. It would have tasted even better with a little sugar.
