Hotel Nikko Narita is located about 10 minutes drive away from Narita International Airport Terminal 2. There's free shuttle bus service to and fro from the hotel to the airport. You can check out the free shuttle bus schedule at the hotel front desk. We decided to stay at a hotel nearby the airport on our last night in Tokyo as our flight back to Kota Kinabalu the next day is at 9.30am. We stayed in a comfort room that comes with a king size bed, working desk, couch, LCD TV with limited channels, disposable slippers, yukata, coffee or tea making facilities, mini fridge, hair dryer and toiletries. The air conditioner was set only on heat mode. We decided not to on it because the room will be too warm for us. We just on the air purifier and it's good enough to cool the bedroom. APA Hotel TKP Nippori-ekimae is just 2 minutes (130m) walking distance from Nippori Station but you will have to carry your luggage down a long stairway from the station. If you have big luggage and need an escalator, use east exit from Nippori Station. There's another train station, Nishi-Nippori Station which is just 10 minutes (800m) walking distance from the hotel. Family Mart is just 1 minute (100m) walking distance from the hotel. Basically in Japan, you tend to see Family Mart or 7-Eleven on every corner! The area is very quiet at night. On one of the nights, while we were walking from Nishi-Nippori Station to our hotel, there's this drunk local Japanese guy trying to get free sex from two Caucasian lady walking behind us. Luckily the guy stepped away when the ladies firmly told them off. So ladies, be careful when you're walking alone at night! We stayed 2 nights in a double room with small double bed. APA Hotel Shinjuku Kabukicho Tower is located in Shinjuku. This hotel is easily accessible to malls, variety of restaurants and it's just 7 minutes (500m) walking distance from Shinjuku Station. There's a Family Mart just right opposite the hotel and 7-eleven is just less than 100m away from the hotel. The area is very lively with lots of entertainment and nightlife. Even at 1am, there's plenty of people and there's a police box nearby the hotel. We saw two police officers patrolling the area on our second night and questioned a tomboy who looked suspicious to them. Somehow, it makes me feel kind of safe staying here. Upon arrival, we did an early check in (3 hours earlier). Normal check in time is 3pm and we have to pay additional ¥ 3,000 for the early check in. We stayed in a double room that comes with a queen-sized bed. The room is very small but it's clean. The only place we can put our cabin size luggage is under the table or between the bed and the fridge...
