89 Station - Kundasang, Sabah

Image
89 Station is located not far from  Kinabalu Park entrance  (just 2 minutes drive). Basically, there's not much selection of Chinese food in Kundasang. Hence, two nights in a row we had our dinner here. Service was really good and prompt on the first evening. However on the second evening, service was slow and they kept forgetting my drink even though I have reminded them at least four times. Apart from that, they missed out one of our order. Overall food tasted average except sweet & sour chicken and marmite chicken. Sweet & sour chicken tasted bland and lack of flavours. The worst dish was marmite chicken because it doesn't taste like marmite chicken at all and it's full of chicken fats instead of meat. Besides that, I was quite disappointed with the bak kut teh dish because they only served it with plenty of meat balls and only few slices of lean meat. The dish that I enjoyed most was the sweet corn soup. Perfect bowl to keep warm in cold weather. Total bill

A trip to Kundasang won't be complete without visiting Desa Dairy Farm. We checked out from Kinabalu Pine Resort  around 11am and drove to Desa Dairy Farm on our last day. It took us around 20 minutes to reach there. Beautiful farm view with amazing scenery. However, it was a cloudy day and the clouds shrouded the peak of Mt. Kinabalu. Vehicles entering the farm must pass through a wheel dip at the entrance to prevent infections through biosecurity measures. Visitors have to walk / step on the foot bath before entering the calf pen as well. Activities such as feeding the calves with bottled milk, feeding the goats with grass, milking process and raw milk processing are available for all. You can purchase bottled milk (RM 1.50) or grass (RM 1) at the counter for calves and goats feeding. Types of activities: a) Calf feeding - 9am to 4pm (daily) b) Milking process - 2.30pm to 4.30pm (daily) c) Raw milk processing - 10am to 3pm (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday) You can

Kinabalu Park entrance is 10 minutes drive from Kundasang War Memorial . The rain forest of Kinabalu Park is filled with variety of flora and fauna. There's gardens and many short walks through the jungle. We drove to Kinabalu Park and spend around 1 hour there. The park is so huge and green. You can stop at various look out points along the way for photographing. If you are lucky you'll catch a beautiful clear view of Mt. Kinabalu. Admission fee: 1) Malaysian: 18 years old and above (RM 3), age 17 years old and below (RM 1) 2) Non Malaysian - 18 years old and above (RM 15), age 17 years old and below (RM 10) View from Kinabalu Park Memorial for mountain guides and climbers who lost their lives on Mt.
