Casa Hill Resort, Sungai Lembing (Lilla Waterfall Retreat) - Pahang
Casa Hill Resort is a simple, budget-friendly place to stay in Sungai Lembing, and it’s the kind of place that works if you’re just looking for a roof over your head after a long day out. It's not fancy, just straightforward and easy on the wallet. The resort offers both container-style units and villa-type rooms, so you can choose between something more compact and modern or a slightly more spacious option. When we checked in, the process felt a bit cold as the receptionist wasn’t very warm or welcoming, which affected our first impression a little.
One thing to note is that we had to drag our bags up a slight hill, but luckily our villa-type room was on the ground floor, which made things easier in the end. Parking is free, but the space at the top is quite limited, so it can get a bit tight depending on the number of guests staying. Our friend stayed in the container-style units, and they had to carry their luggage up to their room as there is no lift, which made it a bit tiring especially after a long day of travel.
We stayed in a villa deluxe family room, which was slightly more spacious compared to the container units. It came with two queen-size beds, and there is also a shared living hall outside the room area where guests can sit and relax. The air-conditioning was very cold, which was actually nice, and there was also a fan in the room. However, the room was quite basic in terms of facilities. There was no working desk, mini fridge, in-room safe, disposable slippers, or facial tissues. They did provide four bottles of shampoo and conditioner, but there was no shower gel. We ended up using the shampoo instead because we were too lazy to contact housekeeping for one.
The bathroom setup was quite simple. The water pressure was quite low, although the water itself was hot enough. The shower area didn’t have a proper partition, so water easily splashed into the toilet area. The basin was also placed outside the toilet, which felt a bit unusual but manageable.
In terms of comfort, the bed was quite hard, though the pillows were okay. During our stay, we also noticed a lizard in the room making noise, and there were droppings on the bedframe, which was not very pleasant. The towels also didn’t absorb water very well. The TV had very limited channels and the signal was quite fuzzy, so it wasn’t really something we used.
On a lighter note, the atmosphere outside was quite calm, and there’s a Super Heroes Cafe on-site that offers karaoke from 10.30am to 10.30pm, which adds a bit of activity for guests who enjoy that kind of entertainment. The swimming pool area was one of the nicer parts of the stay. It’s simple but relaxing, and a good spot to unwind in the afternoon. The open surroundings also make the place feel airy and peaceful, which helps balance out the basic room experience.
Overall, Casa Hill Resort is more about simplicity than luxury. It’s not perfect, but it’s decent for a short stay, especially if you’re just looking for a quiet place to sleep and continue your journey the next day.
