We stayed at Heritage Court, Oamaru during our last night in New Zealand. Most people came to see the penguins, the little blue penguin and the yellow-eyed penguin. The room was very spacious (with a double bed and two single beds), clean and comfortable. All the bed come with bed warmer and a heater as well. There is a small kitchen equipped with a basin, microwave, plates and kettle. Price - $90 excluding breakfast. Merino Country Farmstay is located near Lake Tekapo. The owner of the house, Greg and Nicola gave us a warm welcome and even helped us to setup and cook our BBQ dinner. We did some shopping and bought some beef, sausages and lamb before we came to this farmstay. However, few minutes after our arrival there was a power trip. The technician needed at least few hours to fix the problem. Ended up we had our candle light BBQ dinner under the starry night. The night sky was amazing. It was clear and the weather was so cold that you can even see your own breath! I saw the milky way and a shooting star for the first time ever! The feeling was really amazing. If not because of the cold weather I would have lie down on the grass and look at the sky for hours! Back to the farmstay review... The bedrooms were clean, spacious, comfortable and all the beds came with bed warmer. The owner rent out 3 of their rooms to us with the price of $5...

Novotel Queenstown is located in the centre of town. A standard room comes with either a King size bed or two double beds. Spacious room with LCD tv, tea/coffee facilities, hairdryer in bathroom, shower area with bathtub and a balcony. The room is clean and comfortable. Price -$96.75 excluding breakfast. This 4 star hotel is close to shopping, restaurants, nightlift and just a walking distance from the heart of lively Queenstown. If you visit Queenstown you must not miss the Fergburger ! Fox Glacier Lodge is situated in the heart of Fox Glacier Village. Lovely rooms, bathrooms and kitchen. The kitchen comes with a fireplace and fully equipped with cooking utensils. However cooking is not allowed in the kitchen. I guess those cooking utensils were meant for the owner to cook us breakfast. The wooden lodge was very clean and just love the spacious bathroom and kitchen. The beds were comfortable with bed warmer. The lodge comes with 4 rooms, each room has its own attached bathroom. Price - $460 including breakfast The owner brought us for a glow worm walk at night to the nearby forest. The loop walk took around 20 to 30 minutes and we were given a torch. We walked along the mossy and giant trees. You need to turned off your torch in order to see the glow worm. It was pitch black when the torch is being turned off. Imagine you do not even know who is standing beside or behind you! We managed to see a few glow worms along the way. They were like tin...

Mountain Jade Backpackers is situated in the heart of Hokitika, upstairs from the Jade factory (no lift available). Strategically located in the town and just few minutes walk to the Stumpers Bar & Cafe . (Remember to order their ribeye. Yummy!) We took the 8 bed dorms - no bed warmer but the room comes with heater. (Price: $200 excluding breakfast) Overall the room is clean and tidy. However we can hear sound of termites eating through wood at night. Smoking within the building is strictly prohibited and you can only use the balcony area if you wish to smoke. Check out time is 10am on day of departure. If you misplace your keys after office hours, there will be an automatic call out fees of $25. The kitchen is well equipped with cooking utensils and you can prepare your own breakfast. There is also a large lounge area where you can hang out and play board games or watch tv. We stayed one night at the Airport Lodge Motel upon arriving at Christchurch. The motel is only 5 minutes drive (30 minutes walk) from the Christchurch International Airport and they offers free airport pick up. We arrived late at night and the lady who picked us up was very friendly and nice.       Airport Lodge Motel  Free airport pick up  Outside of the motel     The motel consists of 2 rooms (which can sleeps up to 6 people), a living hall (which can sleeps up to 2 people), small kitchen and a bathroom which comes with heater. The room was clean and tidy. The beds are equipped with bed warmer except the beds at the living hall. However they have a heater in the living hall.
