Tawau/Semporna - Day 8 (Tawau Town)

It's our last day here in Tawau and latest time that we can check out from ROOMS hotel is 1pm. So we went out to Saga Cafe & Kitchen for brunch. The restaurant is a 5 minutes walk (400m) from the hotel. I ordered hot peri chicken that comes with four regular sides - coleslaw, corn cob, salsa and sweet potato. My partner ordered nasi kerabu ayam percik and add on Thai milk tea. Milk tea is on the sweet side and I still prefer my hot lemon aloe vera which is so refreshing. I like my partner's nasi kerabu. Rice is slightly chewy, fluffy and soft. Ayam percik (roasted spiced chicken) on the other hand is flavourful and juicy. Whereas my peri chicken sauce doesn't taste as good as Nando's and chicken is a bit dry. Sweet potato is a bit soggy but luckily the corn cob is sweet and juicy.

We got back to the hotel and check out at 1pm. We took a Grab car to Tawau Airport (Grab fare - RM 33) and 30 minutes later we have reached the airport. Since we still have some time to kill, we head to Gloria Jean's Coffees for a glass of mango smoothies and Danish cake. Their smoothies is on the sweet side and same goes for the Danish cake. Apart from that, the almond flakes are super soft.

Our flight depart on time at 4.45pm and 40 minutes later we have landed at Kota Kinabalu International Airport. I didn't get to finish my hot milo and right after they served our tea break, we have to gobbled up our food as the flight duration is too short. The air stewardess already started to prepare for landing 30 minutes after departure.

Jollibee is a Filipino multinational chain of fast food restaurants. On the day of arrival, we asked our friendly Grab driver what is the must-try food in Philippines and he mentioned Jollibee. So here we at Jollibee located inside Landmark Department Store just 4 minutes (250m) walking distance from  New World Makati Hotel . We ordered 2 pieces of chicken served with rice and drink. Rice is soft. Fried chicken is crispy, flavourful and tender. It comes together with a brown gravy which taste like KFC mashed potatoes gravy. Overall it's good. Hounon Ridge Farmstay & Camping - Kundasang, Sabah

Hounon Ridge Farmstay is located at Kampung Himbaan Bundu Tuhan, 36 minutes drive from Kundasang town. The road heading to Bundu Tuhan is very steep and narrow. There's no street light and driving at night can be hazardous if you are not familiar with the road condition. Be particularly alert when driving and watch out for cows, chickens and stray dogs on the side of the road. There's 4 types of room available. If you are the adventurous type and not afraid of cold, you can even camp outside Hounon Ridge Farmstay.
