We have never been to Perth Zoo before and this trip we decided to visit the Zoo. Perth Zoo is just five minutes from the City and it's not a huge zoo. Basically you can do the whole zoo trail in 3 hours depending on how long you stop and watch the animals, that is if you can see them. We try getting around Perth without a car by taking their public transport. So, we took bus no. 564 from Baldivis and bought a standard 5 to 9 zone (price - $ 5) single one way journey cash ticket from the bus driver. There's a three hours expiry time printed on the ticket which allows us to travel on any combination of bus, train and ferry services. Bus no. 564 stopped at Warnbro Station. We took a train from Warnbro Station Platform 1 to Elizabeth Quay Station. It took around 1 hour 10 minutes to reach Perth city from Baldivis.

Hungry Jack's Burger is located at William Street, approximately 6 minutes (400m) walking distance from Elizabeth Quay Station. I had Whopper Junior cheese comes with medium coke and medium fries while my partner had Bacon and cheese Angus. Hungry Jack is always a good choice when it comes to fast food.

We walked to Elizabeth Quay bus station and took bus no.30 to Perth Zoo. The admission price is $ 34.60 for adult and half price, $ 17.30 for child (4 to 15 years). First thing when we enter the Zoo is to take the zoo map. Since we reached there around 12.20pm, we missed the porcupine feed, bull elephant talk, orangutan talk, penguin talk & feed and otter talk & feed. There's gibbon feed, sun bear talk and koala talk but only on specific days. The only talk and feed available on a Wednesday afternoon is Tasmanian devil. However, times and activities may vary for animal management reason. So make sure you grab a map at the entrance before exploring the zoo.
Perth Zoo has three main zones - Australian bushwalk, Asian rainforest and African Savannah. It's a great zoo but few of the enclosures closed for maintenance. So we didn't get to see the penguins. Besides that, we didn't get to see the Tasmanian devil as well. I guess some animals are very good at hiding.
There's at least six food trucks and I bought a strawberry milkshake from Burger & Bites food truck. Sadly it tastes dull and just like milk with a hint of strawberry. We continue to explore the Zoo until 4.45pm. It's absolutely wonderful to take your own sweet time to explore the zoo.

Windsor Park is moderately large and located next to the Zoo. While waiting for Leo to fetch us for dinner, we took a quick walk around the park.

Leo came to fetch us around 5.40pm and brought us to Korean BBQ Village for dinner. We ordered their five types of beef combination (beef short rib, beef rib finger, beef thin skirt, marinated beef rib and beef bulgogi), beef rib stew, seafood pancake, boneless fried chicken and soy chicken. Overall the meat tends to be on the tougher side and chewy. However, I like their kimchi as it has this sweet, salty, sour, spicy and umami flavour. Fried chicken is crunchy but there's a lot of chicken skin and fats. We also ordered 5 cans of Cass beer. The beer is light and refreshing with a bitter finish.

Carmen suggested we have dessert at Brown Spoon just few shop lots away from Korean BBQ Village. We ordered a slice of matcha strawberry cake, premium watermelon bingsu and mango bingsu. Bingsu is a Korean shaved ice dessert. However, their bingsu is just too sweet for our liking. There's eight of us including four teenagers but we can't even finish 2 bowls of bingsu! On the other hand, matcha strawberry cake has a bitter aftertaste and the fresh sliced strawberries are slightly sour.
