Taiwan - Day 6 (Taoyuan)

Our stay at Song He Motel includes breakfast for 2 person. Breakfast starts from 7am to 9.30am and it's a simple porridge breakfast. There's only five types of condiments - tofu, fermented bean curd, roasted salted peanuts, fried bean sticks and meat floss. You may request for toasted bread, coffee or tea as well. I like their meat floss and salted peanuts. I used to eat pork floss topping on steamed white rice when I was young. Meat floss pairs so well with porridge and both of us enjoy our simple breakfast. However, porridge is cold. It would be good if they served us hot porridge.

Alan came and fetch us at 10am. Together with Jon we went and visit Uncle Xie in Taoyuan. Uncle Xie and wife brought us for buffet lunch at Eatogether Taoyuan Shin Kong Branch. There's variety of food to choose from. There's Chinese cuisine, Japanese cuisine and Western cuisine. They even serve Haagen Daz ice cream, nama chocolate, cocktails and beer. Prawns are fresh and I just love the desserts. We had a fabulous lunch thanks to Uncle Xie and wife. I wish I can try all the ice creams and desserts but there's just not enough room in my stomach to fit in all.

Uncle Xie brought us for dinner at this restaurant "十里香私房料理餐厅". There's only six of us but Uncle Xie ordered 10 dishes! My favourite dish of the night is the steamed fish and stir fried beef. Apart from that, I like their prawns which are very fresh and sweet. Same goes for the clam soup. Clam is big and fresh. I don't really enjoy the braised pork belly but I just love the Chinese steamed bun as it's soft and fluffy. Stir fried vegetables is good too. It's crispy and succulent. However, mapo tofu is a bit too spicy for all of us. Pork with Chinese wine and goji berry soup has a strong wine taste. Overall we enjoy our dinner very much.
