Restoran Teluk Pulai (Clay Pot) Ba Kut Teh - Klang

One of my favourite bak kut teh shop in Klang is this Restoran Teluk Pulai (Clay Pot) Ba Kut Teh. Some called it the Taman Rashna Bak Kut Teh. This restaurant served both dry and soup version of bak kut teh during breakfast and lunch.

We ordered 2 portions of the small bones (direct translation from hokkien - suay kut). Seems that this "suay kut" is located somewhere around the pork's leg. The meat was really tender. It came with fats as well (really big piece of fat!) and of course a small piece of bone. By the way, you get to choose your preferred cut meat when you placed your order. If you are not sure which part of the pork to order, just ask the staff.

The clay pot soup version consists of meat, vegetables, button mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, beancurd and tau pok (deep-fat fried tofu). You can also choose to add on the enoki mushrooms or fish balls. My favourite and must add on is the fish balls. It's really soft and smooth. Besides that, the rice was just right. Not too hard and not too soft. Some called it oil rice or fragrant rice.

The meal cost us RM32 for 3 plates of rice and 2 portions of meat with additional fish balls. This restaurant is always busy and crowded. If you are looking for a yummy bak kut teh in Klang, this is the right place for you. However if you are looking for a place to slowly sip your tea while enjoying your bak kut teh, this might not be the right place for you especially during weekends. You will be too stressed out because people will be standing beside your table, waiting eagerly for you to finish your food so that they can take over your seats!
