Langkawi, Kedah - Day 2 (Langkawi Sky Bridge - Kilim Geoforest Park)
Our stay at Wings by Croske Resort Langkawi includes a buffet breakfast for two people. The restaurant is clean and well-organized. The buffet breakfast offers a wide range of options, including vegetarian, Malay, Chinese, American, and Indian food. There are nasi lemak, ham, curly fries, sausages, baked beans, pasta, chapati, naan, porridge, a noodle station, an egg station, cereals, pastries, salad, fruits, chilled juice, and coffee. The food is warm, and I enjoy their porridge. However, the anchovies are hard rather than crispy. They serve a variety of chicken dishes, but the chicken textures are mushy.

The night before, we informed the van driver to pick us up at 8.45am to visit the Langkawi Sky Bridge, which is an 18-minute drive (12.9km) from the Wings by Croske Resort Langkawi. We arrived early, and the ticket counter only opens at 9.30am. Instead of waiting for the ticket counter to open, we considered buying the ticket online. However, we found out that they do not have tickets available online for the elderly, which are slightly cheaper than adults. Ended up, we continued to queue and wait for the ticket counter to open. The toilet at the base costs RM 1 per entry, but it's free at the middle or top station.
There are several different types of packages, and we find it very confusing. We ended up buying the ticket for Sky Cab (cable car) and Sky Bridge. Since the Sky Glide (cabin with glass windows) is under maintenance, we need to take the nature walk to get to the Sky Bridge. The nature walk is quite challenging, especially for the elderly, because you must walk down many steps to reach the Sky Bridge. To return to the Sky Cab station, you have to take the same route.

The Sky Cab will bring you from the base to the middle station (650m from sea level), where the Eagle Nest Skywalk is located. There is an entrance fee of RM 28 for adults, and you are not allowed to bring in any bags. There is a locker for you to store your belongings. Only two handphones are allowed, and they will provide you a casing with a strip. Besides that, you need to put on a shoe cover. The overall thickness of the glass floor is 39.04mm, and it's not as scary as it seems.

We took a break at the mid-station cafe and ordered an iced lemon tea and a plate of pasta for his niece. However, the carbonara pasta is too salty for my taste and slightly undercooked.

After our break, we rode the Sky Cab to the top station (708m from sea level) and walked at least three hundred stairs to reach the Sky Bridge. We were sweating by the time we reached the Sky Bridge. The weather was really hot, but when the wind blew, it got a bit chilly.

We had another break at the Sky Bistro. My partner ordered a glass of orange asam boi and it's good. His parents ordered pizza, and we each grabbed a slice before heading down to the base. It's nice to chill at the cafe as it's windy and cooling.

While we waited for our driver to pick us up at 1.15pm, we bought a cup of classic roasted milk tea with grass jelly from Tealive. Our next stop is Kilim Geoforest Park, which is around a 35-minute drive (25.5km) from Langkawi Sky Bridge.
Tealive: Classic roasted milk tea with grass jelly - RM 9.60
Van is not allowed to enter the Kilim jetty area. There is buggy service available for RM 2 per person. The distance between the parking area and the jetty is only 100m. Basically, you can walk there without using the buggy service.
There are three types of packages (maximum 10 people/boats):
1) Package A: RM 350 - visit the bat cave, fish feeding show at fish farm, eagle watching, Andaman Sea, Kilim Geoforest Park Icon, crocodile cave and mangrove sightseeing
2) Package B: RM 450 - same as package A, includes swimming at Long Beach
3) Package C: RM 500 - same as package B, includes swimming/snorkeling/fish feeding at Dangli Island
We chose package A, and the boat is large enough to accommodate ten of us. There is no toilet at the jetty area. Besides that, they did not provide us a safety jacket while on the boat.

Our first stop is the bat cave. We still need to pay an admission fee of RM 2 per person to enter the bat cave. Renting a torch light costs RM 1. You will need a torchlight to see the bats. If you lose, damage, or drop the torchlight, you will be required to pay a compensation fee of RM 25. It's a small and dark cave. My partner walked so fast with his mom that we completely missed the bats. Luckily, I asked them to turn around, and you can see the bats by flashing the torchlight on the cave's wall. There are so many of them hanging upside down on top of the cave.
When we were about to leave the cave, we heard a lady screaming and running towards us. It seems that the monkeys were trying to attack her when she walked out of the cave. We got scared and decided to turn around and walk back to the jetty. However, when we reached the jetty, we saw a lot of monkeys roaming around the area. One of them even stroked my partner's leg as he walked past him. I was trying not to make eye contact with the monkeys and was glad that they did not disturb me when I walked past them.

We had our late lunch at Amin Floating Restaurant. The boat took us there, and the restaurant was empty. We waited for more than half an hour for our food to arrive. I wonder what took them so long to cook our dishes since we were their only customers. Later, some tourists came, and their food came even faster than ours! When the food arrived, the tom yam didn't taste good, and the vegetables were too salty. Besides that, their mango salad tastes like pickled cucumber. The best dishes of the day are butter chicken and sweet and sour prawns. This was one of the most expensive meals we had in Langkawi, and we felt like tourists being overcharged, as the fish was definitely overpriced.

By the time we finished eating our late lunch, it was almost 4pm. The same boat took us to the crocodile cave, followed by eagle watching. Then he drove us along the river, stopping at a mangrove tree to show us a small anaconda. The ride ended with the Kilim Geoforest Park Icon. The highlight of this river tour is the eagle watching, but it is only worth doing once.

Our driver came and picked us up at the jetty car park around 4.40pm. The journey back to our hotel takes around 30 minutes. I was grateful that my partner switched places with me and sat in the van's last row, which was cramped and uncomfortable.

Halim GP is an 11-minute walk (800m) from our hotel. However, since we have elderly people travelling with us, the driver drove us there around 7.30pm. We invited the driver to join us for dinner as well. This eatery place was recommended by my partner's friend. I enjoy their fried fish very much. It's crispy and perfectly seasoned with salt. Besides that, their sambal is delicious and best eaten with the fried fish. The fried squid is good too. It's crispy and flavourful. The fried fish was so good that we ordered a second serving. So far, this is the best meal we've had in Langkawi. After dinner, we returned to the hotel and relaxed by drinking beer and chatting.
