Travelodge - Ipoh, Perak

Travelodge Ipoh used to be the Heritage Hotel. The rooms have been refurbished and it looks modern now. There's a hot and cold water dispenser at every floor corridor. We stayed 2 nights in a deluxe twin room since their deluxe queen rooms have been fully occupied. Room is spacious and clean. Deluxe twin room comes with 2 single beds, smart TV with very limited Astro channels, in-room safe, mini fridge, coffee or tea making facilities, iron, ironing board, disposable slippers, hair dryer, free WiFi, self controlled air conditioning, working desk with a low uncomfortable chair and basic toiletries.

Majority hotels have low tables and comfortable chairs so that business travelers can work comfortably but not this hotel. The chair is too low and it's not adjustable. I have to put a pillow under the chair to make it higher. Apart from that, hotel room is very cold but glad that we can adjust the temperature. Bathroom looks clean and spacious. Water pressure is very good and hot. However, the shower area only has a half glass partition. Hence, water from the shower area tend to splash out to the toilet area. There's no liquid soap nor they provide any bar soap on the washbasin. Housekeeping was fast as they did it within an hour but they did not refill our tea, coffee and toilet paper. 

Hotel facilities include gym, kid's play area and swimming pool. Ground floor gym - Urbax Fitness Thompson is only for those with membership passes. Hotel gym is at level 2 which is free of charge. A key card is required to access the lift. Self service laundry is available too at level 3. There's 2 washing machines and 2 dryer machines. You just need to purchase a RM 10 token for washing and RM 10 token for drying from the receptionist area. It's so convenient and we did our laundry as it only takes 30 minutes for washing and another 30 minutes for drying. I didn't manage to check out the swimming pool because it was locked. Swimming pool is located just outside the hotel near to the parking area.

Our stay in  Kinabalu Pine Resort  comes with breakfast for 2 adults. Breakfast start from 7am to 10am. They only serve ala-carte breakfast and you need to pre-book it at The Pines Restaurant latest by 9.30pm for your next day's breakfast. There's Malay, Chinese, Western or kids breakfast set. Apart from that, there's free flow of Tenom coffee, Sabah tea, mango and orange juice. Hounon Ridge Farmstay & Camping - Kundasang, Sabah

Hounon Ridge Farmstay is located at Kampung Himbaan Bundu Tuhan, 36 minutes drive from Kundasang town. The road heading to Bundu Tuhan is very steep and narrow. There's no street light and driving at night can be hazardous if you are not familiar with the road condition. Be particularly alert when driving and watch out for cows, chickens and stray dogs on the side of the road. There's 4 types of room available. If you are the adventurous type and not afraid of cold, you can even camp outside Hounon Ridge Farmstay. Our room was on the 1st floor overlooking Mount Kinabalu. Great view and you can slide the glass window to get some fresh air.
