AC Hotel by Marriott - Penang

AC Hotel by Marriott Penang was previously known as Vistana Bukit Jambul Hotel. We stayed here once back in 2016. We decided to stay in this hotel again since it's just 7.6km or 11 minutes drive from Penang International Airport. We arrived at Penang International Airport around 10pm on a Sunday night and surprisingly we couldn't get any ride with Grab car. We were left with no other option but to take an Airport Limo and the rate was 3x pricier than Grab car.

We arrived at AC Hotel around 10.40pm and checked into a Deluxe King room. The room has one king size bed which is comfortable only for 2 adults. Room looks clean and bed is comfy. However there's some stains on the bed sheet and yellow stains on the bath towel as well. Shower is separated from the toilet area with its own transparent cubicle. The shower cubicle may be big enough for you to stand in but it's a bit cramped in there. Water pressure is good but there's inconsistency in hot water temperature.

Room comes with a study table, single sofa, in-room safe, iron, ironing board, 2 complimentary bottles of mineral water, coffee or tea making facilities, mini fridge, 1 piece disinfectant wipes, hairdryer, basic toiletries, air conditioning with individual control and a fuzzy TV screen with very limited TV channels. Apart from that room looks dark and dim.

Hotel facilities include an outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre (you need to proceed to the reception for access into AC fitness), Cafe and meeting space. As I mentioned before in my previous blog, one setback staying in this hotel is there's no lift access from hotel parking to the hotel lobby. You can either dropped off your luggage at the hotel entrance or dragged your luggage up the semi circular staircase. Well, I guess one thing I like about this hotel is their mangosteen shower gel and hand sanitizer. It smells delightful and good...

The Pines Restaurant (Kinabalu Pine Resort) - Kundasang, Sabah

Our stay in  Kinabalu Pine Resort  comes with breakfast for 2 adults. Breakfast start from 7am to 10am. They only serve ala-carte breakfast and you need to pre-book it at The Pines Restaurant latest by 9.30pm for your next day's breakfast. There's Malay, Chinese, Western or kids breakfast set. Apart from that, there's free flow of Tenom coffee, Sabah tea, mango and orange juice. You can order additional breakfast set at the price of RM 18 for Malay, Chinese or Western breakfast and RM 9 for kids breakfast. 1. Hounon Ridge Farmstay & Camping - Kundasang, Sabah

Hounon Ridge Farmstay is located at Kampung Himbaan Bundu Tuhan, 36 minutes drive from Kundasang town. The road heading to Bundu Tuhan is very steep and narrow. There's no street light and driving at night can be hazardous if you are not familiar with the road condition. Be particularly alert when driving and watch out for cows, chickens and stray dogs on the side of the road. There's 4 types of room available. If you are the adventurous type and not afraid of cold, you can even camp outside Hounon Ridge Farmstay. Room type: a) Standard quad room b) Standard double room without balcony c) Standard double room with balcony d) Dormitory - 10 person e) Camping We stayed in a standard double room without balcony. Our room was on the 1st floor overlooking Mount Kinabalu. Great view and you can slide the glass window to get some fresh air.
