Tokyo - Day 7 (Tennoji Temple - Yoyogi Park - Takeshita Street - Meiji Shrine - Roppongi Hill)
Tennoji Temple is just 4 minutes walking distance (290m) from APA Hotel TKP Nippori-ekimae - Tokyo. We checked out from our hotel at 10.45am and left our luggage at the reception area before we walked over to Tennoji Temple. The temple is located next to the Yanaka Cemetery Park, overlooking Nippori Station.

We took a train from Nippori Station to Harajuku Station (¥200 per person) and from there we walked to Yoyogi Park. The park is just 5 minutes walking distance (350m) from Harajuku Station. Yoyogi National Stadium is just across Yoyogi Park. It's a beautiful and quiet park. We saw a kebab food truck in front of the park entrance and decided to grab one. It's a unique combination of fries, cabbage and kebab meat stuffed in a pita bread. The taste was okay and that will keep us going for another hour. There's a dog park in Yoyogi Park. If you like dogs you can visit the park but you are not allowed to enter the park without your membership card or unregistered dog.

We walked to Takeshita Street just 5 minutes walking distance (350m) from Yoyogi Park. Takeshita Street is a pedestrian shopping street, one of the busiest shopping street in Tokyo. There's fashion boutique, cafes and restaurants. My partner's uncle recommended us to try a ramen shop not far away from Harajuku Station. It's a small ramen shop which can only accommodate 20 people. As usual we have to stand and queue for our table. I ordered Miso ramen with egg while my partner ordered their signature Tonkotsu soup - Kyushu Jangara with chunks of marinated pork. Ramen is nice and soft but I felt very thirsty after eating. I preferred my Miso ramen because it's more flavourful compared to Kyushu Jangara ramen.

We walked to Roppongi Hill and had our tea break at McDonald. I ordered chocolate & almonds waffle cone and strawberry McShake. Both were equally as good. We hang around Roppongi Hill and from there you can see Tokyo Tower. We walked to Hard Rock Roppongi which is just 6 minutes walking distance (500m) from Roppongi Hill. This time we didn't get anything form the Hard Rock shop.

We had our dinner at Seryna, just 3 minutes walking distance (200m) from Hard Rock Roppongi. A very cosy restaurant with a nice ambience. Staff were very attentive, polite and friendly. We ordered shabu-shabu for one person. There's 3 types of course menu for you to choose from and we went for Seryna. Our course menu comes with an appetizer, seasonal Japanese dish, horsehair crab (half), fried stuffed crab, shabu-shabu and dessert. We get to choose either prime beef shabu-shabu, crab shabu-shabu, Kobe beef shabu-shabu or Kobe beef char-broiled steak. We decided to go for prime beef (grade A5) shabu-shabu - ¥15,000.
We loved their fried stuff crab and beef. The beef is so tender and soft. Perfect combination with the spicy dipping sauce. Crabmeat salad was good too but portion size was a bit small. I don't really enjoyed their almond pudding dessert because it has an intense almond flavour. I love roasted almonds but definitely not almond pudding. We were so full that we have to cancel our garlic rice that we ordered earlier.

After dinner we took a train from Roppongi Station to Nishi-nippori Station via Kasumigaseki Station. We took our luggage from the hotel and walked to Nippori Station and from there we took a train to Narita Airport Terminal 2 (¥1,050 per person). Our train depart at 9.15pm and by the time we reached Narita Airport Terminal 2 it's already 10.45pm. The train journey took approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. We decided to stay at Hotel Nikko Narita for one night since we will be flying back to Kota Kinabalu early morning. It's very convenient to stay in this hotel because there's free shuttle bus service to and fro from the hotel to the airport. The free shuttle bus schedule is displayed at bus stop no. 33. Our bus came at 11.15pm and 15 minutes later we have reached our hotel.
