Jonker 88 - Malacca

Jonker 88 is located along the Jonker Street just beside the Jonker Walk World Heritage Park. My favourite cendol is the Baba Chendol - shaved ice with gula melaka, santan, cendol & beans. Whenever we visit Malacca, surely we will drop by Jonker 88 to have a bowl of Baba Chendol. Just love the gula melaka which was thick and gooey. The sweetness level of the cendol was just nice.

Besides the Baba Chendol, we ordered the nyonya asam laksa, fish balls and baba rendang minced fish and prawn noodle. The nyonya asam laksa was spicy and sour, served with noodles, shredded fish, finely sliced cucumber, onion, hard boiled egg, fried beancurd and mint leaves.  It was a bit too spicy for me but I like the noodles which was very smooth and chewy. I actually have to dip the noodles into the fish ball soup to get rid of the spiciness. Yes! I can't take spicy food. I will feel my whole lips, mouth and stomach burning!

The fish balls were huge and the texture was not too soft. The baba rendang minced fish and prawn noodle was a bit too spicy for me as well but the curry was thick, creamy and flavourful. It's just nice to gulp down the cold baba chendol after having all the spicy food. :)
