Market City - Perth, Western Australia

We woke up as early as 7am and went to this Market City to buy some seafood, meat, fruits and vegetables. You need to be early to get good stuff. Just like the old saying, early bird catches the worm.

During weekdays, this wholesale markets are open for wholesale trade only. Public cannot buy direct from this market except Saturday. The wholesale clearance market only open to public on Saturday, from 6am to 10am - meat & seafood section and from 7.30am to 9.30am - fruits & vegetables section. Entrance fee is $3 per vehicles and no pedestrain access is allowed.

We went to this seafood section first which is called the Perth Fish Markets. You get to see all kind of seafood such as variety of fish, prawns and lobsters.

The meat section is just next to the fish market named the Western Meat Mart. The temperature in the meat market was freezing! The feeling was like walking into a huge freezer full of meat and people. Just right outside the meat market, there was a stall selling sausages. The sausage sizzle was good and match perfectly with the mustard and sweet chili sauce.

After completed the seafood and meat shopping, we went to the fruits and vegetables section. We managed to find someone to share a box of mushroom and tomatoes with us. Basically we are paying $5 for half a box of mushrooms and tomatoes. :) It was a good deal for both of us as the vegetables are sold in bulk quantites.
