Burlington Hotel - Hong Kong

Burlington Hotel is located in the heart of Wan Chai, and the Cityflyer A11 bus from Hong Kong International Airport stops right in front of the hotel. Many eateries and coffee shops are just a short walk from the hotel. The staff are all very friendly, including the housekeeping lady. The check-in process is quick and efficient. They will also require our passports for registration. We were assigned the 28th floor, which is the highest.

On the 19th floor, there is a Sky Garden with complimentary coffee, tea and drinking water. There are vending machines, chairs where you may relax, a microwave oven and an electric cooking pot. This floor also includes a small gym. The area can be chilly as it is not enclosed. To access the room floor and Sky Garden via lift, a room key card is required.

We stayed two nights in a standard double room that comes with a double bed, an LG HD flat-screen TV with various channels, a working desk, air conditioning with individual temperature control, a mini fridge, a torchlight, an in-room safe, two pairs of disposable slippers, a hair dryer, complimentary Wi-Fi, coffee or tea-making facilities and basic toiletries. Even though the hotel is equipped with type G power outlets, they still provide us with a power plug adapter.

The room is modern, small but clean. The bed is springy, yet still comfy. Our bed only came with two pillows, so we requested two extra pillows on the second night. I like how they have a sliding door to close the makeup mirror. The hotel room does not provide any complimentary drinking water. However, you can get your free flow of coffee, tea and drinking water on level 19.

The shower area is separated from the toilet area by its own transparent cubicle. The water is hot enough and the pressure is normal. However, adjusting the flow of hot water can be challenging. Halfway through my shower, I found the water drainage was clogged. So I had a quick shower and then asked the front desk for help. They arrived promptly and assisted in unclogging the drain, which appears to have a large amount of hair in it. The maintenance guy did not remove his shoes when he unclogged the drainage, therefore the bathroom floor was a little dirty after that.

The basin has hot water as well, but there is no indication of which direction the hot water flows. The bathroom only has basic toiletries such as shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. They do not provide any shower caps, shavers, toothbrushes, combs or cotton buds.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and the hotel's location is excellent.
