Melbourne - Sydney - Day 8/ Day 6

It's Lee's turn to worked from home today and he made us home cooked noodles for breakfast. It feels so good to have a bowl of hot noodles soup on a cold day. We left Chyme's house around 10.30am and took a Uber to the airport. Thank you both for your warm hospitality during our visit. :)

On the way to the airport, my partner received an email saying our flight from Melbourne to Sydney at 1pm has been cancelled. Jetstar gave us two options. We're entitled to a full refund or rescheduled it to another flight without fee. We have no other option but to rescheduled it to 6.45pm flight. They gave us each $ 20 refreshment voucher as compensation. Since we've already arrived at the airport, basically we just hang around there for 7 hours. If only they have informed us earlier, we wouldn't have went to the airport so early!

We had McDonalds for lunch, checked in our luggage at 4.45pm and had our early dinner at Terminal 4. I had Mexican food while my partner had Chinese food. I ordered steak quesadilla from Salsas Mexican Grill. It's nicer compared to the one that we had at Pacos Tacos. My partner ordered "kuey teow" soup from Yumcha noodles. Hahaha... one of the most expensive "kuey teow" soup that he had if we were to convert it to Malaysia Ringgit.

Our flight got delayed again and finally we departed at 7.15pm. We reached Sydney airport around 9pm. We took a train from Sydney Domestic Airport Station to Epping via Central Station. There's no direct train from the airport to Epping. The journey took us approximately an hour to reach Epping. Both Daz and Sam were waiting for us at the station when we arrived. We're so happy to see them again and finally we reached their house at 11pm. It was a long and tiring day.

Our initial plan before the flight delay was to meet them at the City Centre and hang around the city area before going back home. Ended up, we spend the entire day in the airport. Anyway, we had a sweet ending because Daz and Sam purposely bought us dessert from La Renaissance! It's so sweet and thoughtful of them. My favourite dessert from La Renaissance would be Monet (white chocolate bavaroise, raspberry, lychee jelly) and Goya (raspberry mousse, passion fruit, almond nougatine, pain de genes biscuit base). Perfect way to end the day...
