Singapore - Day 6 (Chinatown)

It's our final day here in Singapore. We checked out from Carlton Hotel Singapore before 12pm and left our luggage at the concierge. We took a Grab to Chinatown (Cost: $ 6) and had our lunch at this one Michelin star restaurant - Hawker Chan. There's so many people queuing inside the restaurant and getting a place to sit is a nightmare. We ordered and paid for our food using a self service electronic system. Then we waited for our number to be called and collect our food at the pick-up counter.

I had soya sauce chicken noodle with chicken breast while my partner had soya sauce chicken rice with chicken breast. You need to pay additional $ 0.50 for chicken breast. Overall I wasn't really impressed with the food. Rice is a bit hard for my liking. Chicken is tender but taste wise it's just okay. The restaurant was so packed during lunch hour that you do not have a proper place to stand and wait for your table! Will I be back again in near future? Most probably not...

After our lunch, we took MRT from Chinatown Station to Dhoby Ghaut Station, then switch to North South Line and stopped at City Hall Station. (Cost: $ 0.77)

We did a quick last minute shopping at Raffles City Shopping Centre before we collect our luggage at the hotel concierge and head straight to the airport. Instead of Grab, we decided to go with MRT. So we took MRT from City Hall Station to Changi Airport Station Terminal 2 (Cost: $ 1.69) using the East West Line. The journey took us approximately 35 minutes. Since our departure gate is at Changi Airport Terminal 4, we have to take their free shuttle bus which departs every 10 minutes. The journey from Terminal 2 to Terminal 4 took approximately 10 minutes ride.

We had our early dinner at this Yi Dian Xin restaurant. My partner ordered roasted pork and one BBQ meat combination rice while I ordered grass carp sliced congee. My congee tasted so so and it's a big turn off when I found fish bones in my sliced fish. On the other hand my partner enjoyed his rice very much. Our flight depart on time at 5.35pm and finally we reached Kota Kinabalu Airport after a 2 1/2 hour flight journey...

Note: $ 1 = RM 3.055
