Singapore - Day 2 (Raffles City Shopping Centre - Mint Museum of Toys - National Library - Bugis Street - Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple - Sri Krishnan Temple - Parkview Square - Haji Lane - Masjid Sultan - Suntec City - War Memorial Park)

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day but well, we always have brunch instead of breakfast :). On our 2nd day in Singapore had our bunch at Ya Kun Kaya Toast located inside Raffles City Shopping Centre, just 4 minutes walking distance (270m) from Carlton Hotel Singapore. We ordered their value set meals which includes 2 soft-boiled eggs and 1 hot coffee / tea (regular). I had cheezy French toast with kaya set while my partner had French toast with kaya set. Apart from that, we ordered their kaya balls as well.

My cheezy French toast taste much better than the normal French toast because it has a slight salty taste on it but it's not cheesy enough for me. I don't really enjoy their kaya (coconut egg jam) spread because it has a grainy texture and too sweet for my liking. So ended up we couldn't finish the 6pcs of kaya balls. However, I like their milk tea as it's not so sweet. Their soft-boiled egg is perfect for those who loves runny and wobbly egg yolk.

A unique museum with collection of vintage toys and collectible items from over 40 countries. There's 4 levels - Outerspace, characters, childhood favourites, collectibles and mint shop. Since both of us not really into collectible toys, we didn't enter the museum but just hang around the mint shop.

We had our late lunch at Albert Centre, a hawker centre right opposite Bugis Street. We're trying to eat like the locals here and since I saw there's a long queue at Angel Horse Teochew Fish Soup stall I decided to give it a try. I have no idea what's so famous about this stall and asked the Uncle queuing behind me. He's a regular customer and recommended me to try their fish slice soup noodles. He mentioned that the crowds were here for the fresh fish. So when my turn comes, I ordered a bowl of thick vermicelli with fish slices. Clear fish soup with thin slices of fresh fish. The red chili is fresh and best eaten together with the slices of fish. No doubt the fish is fresh but is it worth the queue? Well... maybe not for me.

My partner on the other hand ordered "yong tau fu" noodles with fried chicken. "Yong tau fu" means tofu stuffed with meat paste of fish and is a Chinese cuisine originated from the Hakka clans. Surprisingly his "yong tau fu" noodles soup taste much better than mine. Soup is flavourful and fried chicken taste good too. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.

Haji Lane is known for it's hipster shops and funky murals. It's just 3 minutes walking distance (250m) from Parkview Square. While I was snapping away photos of the funky murals, a lovely couple appeared out of nowhere and indirectly they steal the limelight. Guess what! It turned out to be one of my favourite shot of the day!

We walked from Kampong Glam Cafe to Suntec City which took us approximately 12 minutes (1km). Along the way, we saw this unique building structure but we have no idea what's the name of the building.

We had our dinner at Ramen Nagi located inside Suntec City Tower 2. We ordered a bowl of original King (Butao), their award winning tonkotsu pork-broth prepared in the traditional method. Ramen comes with soft slices of pork, spring onions and egg. You get to choose your spicy level from none up to level 10. It's our first time here and they suggested us to go for 1 spicy level for our standard ramen. Apart from that, you get to choose your firmness of your ramen from extra hard to extra soft. I prefer softer ramen hence I opt for soft. It's good and ramen texture is just perfect for me. Broth is rich and flavourful too.

Since we only had one bowl of ramen, we went for second round of dinner at Tony Romas and ordered TR ribs trio (pork) that comes with 3 types of sauce - original, Carolina honeys and bacon BBQ sauce. Rib combos are served with two choices of coleslaw, baked potato, mashes potatoes, fries, rice, broccoli or ranch style beans. We decided to go with coleslaw and mashes potatoes. Ribs were lean, tender and juicy. Perfect meal to end the night.
