Hotel Neo +, Penang

It's time for another business trip to Penang! This round since we have our own transportation, hotel location was not an issue for us. We enjoyed trying different hotels and this time we decided to stay at Hotel Neo +. Located in the heart of Penang and 100% smoke free hotel, this hotel is within 7 minutes walking distance to Komtar tower, one of the most prominent landmarks in Penang.

We stayed in a standard room comes with a 2 single beds, LED TV (limited TV channel - local channels, Euronews, travel channel, Hypp sports, Astro Super Sports, Nick Jr, Now Jelli, RTL CBS Entertainment and Universal Channel), in room safe box, mini fridge, hair dryer, study table, wardrobe, self controlled air conditioning, bedroom slippers, free internet access, 2 complimentary bottles of drinking water, coffee and tea making facilities, bathroom with hot/cold shower and wall mounted 3 in 1 shampoo dispenser. Iron and ironing board only available upon request.

The room and bathroom were dimly lit, TV was fuzzy, internet speed was slow, there's stain on the ceiling wall, toilet bowl and bedside table. Water pressure was strong and water was hot but slow drainage caused minor flooding in the bathroom when taking a shower. Small room and luckily the bed sheets and pillows looked clean. Overall it wasn't a pleasant stay.

Hotel facilities include a rooftop swimming pool and gymnasium. You need to have the room key card to gain access into the gym. Children under the age of 18 are not permitted in the gym. Plenty of free parking available.

Jollibee is a Filipino multinational chain of fast food restaurants. On the day of arrival, we asked our friendly Grab driver what is the must-try food in Philippines and he mentioned Jollibee. Our stay in  Kinabalu Pine Resort  comes with breakfast for 2 adults. Breakfast start from 7am to 10am. They only serve ala-carte breakfast and you need to pre-book it at The Pines Restaurant latest by 9.30pm for your next day's breakfast. There's Malay, Chinese, Western or kids breakfast set. Apart from that, there's free flow of Tenom coffee, Sabah tea, mango and orange juice. Hounon Ridge Farmstay & Camping - Kundasang, Sabah

Hounon Ridge Farmstay is located at Kampung Himbaan Bundu Tuhan, 36 minutes drive from Kundasang town. The road heading to Bundu Tuhan is very steep and narrow. There's no street light and driving at night can be hazardous if you are not familiar with the road condition. Be particularly alert when driving and watch out for cows, chickens and stray dogs on the side of the road. There's 4 types of room available. If you are the adventurous type and not afraid of cold, you can even camp outside Hounon Ridge Farmstay. Our room was on the 1st floor overlooking Mount Kinabalu. Great view and you can slide the glass window to get some fresh air.
