We heard that Tuck Shop Cafe is a popular spot for breakfast and lunch in Northbridge and decided to give it a try on a cooling Thursday morning. Since it's a weekday, there's plenty of seats for us to choose. Inside the restaurant, it's rather small and cosy. So, we decided to sit outside and enjoy the cool breezes. The staff were very friendly and attentive.

We ordered two main dishes from the menu - Chorizo (comes with paprika potatoes, peppers, spanish onions, crispy pork belly and fried egg) and Moroccan meatballs (comes with flatbread, tomato, hummus and za'atar fried egg. Za'atar is a type of herbs frequently used in the Middle East). All were nicely plated and garnished.

Whereas for the kids, we ordered a mixed berry pancakes with maple syrup and vanilla mascarpone. Mascarpone is an Italian cheese made from cream. Besides that, we ordered babycino for the kids as well. Babycino is a coffee drink for kids, made from either decaf cappuccino or frothed milk with no coffee. Tuck Shop served babycino with marshmallows. The kids just loved it.

However, I felt that the mixed berry pancakes with maple syrup and vanilla mascarpone a bit pricey. Overall the food was just ok for me. (Maybe I had too high of expectations) Anyhow, end of the day the kids loved it so much especially when the pancakes comes with a complimentary ice cream.

Our stay in  Kinabalu Pine Resort  comes with breakfast for 2 adults. Breakfast start from 7am to 10am. They only serve ala-carte breakfast and you need to pre-book it at The Pines Restaurant latest by 9.30pm for your next day's breakfast. There's Malay, Chinese, Western or kids breakfast set. Apart from that, there's free flow of Tenom coffee, Sabah tea, mango and orange juice. Hounon Ridge Farmstay & Camping - Kundasang, Sabah

Hounon Ridge Farmstay is located at Kampung Himbaan Bundu Tuhan, 36 minutes drive from Kundasang town. The road heading to Bundu Tuhan is very steep and narrow. There's no street light and driving at night can be hazardous if you are not familiar with the road condition. Be particularly alert when driving and watch out for cows, chickens and stray dogs on the side of the road. There's 4 types of room available. If you are the adventurous type and not afraid of cold, you can even camp outside Hounon Ridge Farmstay. Our room was on the 1st floor overlooking Mount Kinabalu. Great view and you can slide the glass window to get some fresh air.
