The day my best pal jumped out of a moving bus...

I was dining at T.G.I Friday's last weekend and I suddenly recalled a dramatic story that happened almost 20 years ago at the bus stop opposite Subang Parade. The memories flashed back when I was seated beside the window, facing the bus stop...

Back in my highschool years, one of my friends invited us for her birthday celebration at Kenny Rogers, Subang Parade. It was our first outing together and the first time we took the public transport together. The journey by bus took us around half an hour to reached our destination. We had a great time together and enjoyed a lot. Another friend of mine Kim, even shopped and bought her favourite Body Shop product.

After we had our lunch, we decided to call it a day and head to the bus stop opposite Subang Parade. We sat there with no idea when the bus will arrive. Finally the bus arrived and all of us got on the bus. When the bus started moving, we heard Kim screamed out loud that she had left her Body Shop product on the bus stop seat. Next thing we know she jumped out from the moving bus!!!

We couldn't see what happened next because the bus was too crowded with passengers. However, we heard one of the passenger shouted at the bus driver to stop his bus. The bus came to an abrupt stop and later we saw Kim got on to the bus. She managed to get her Body Shop product but she looked pale. We asked whether she was injured but she kept on saying she's fine. Throughout the journey she did not speak a word to us!

Once we reached our destination, we got off the bus and suddenly Kim collapsed! She told us that she felt dizzy and couldn't walk. We didn't know what to do! So, we decided to call her mom. (Back in those days, we do not have any personal cell phone. Basically we have to queue at the public phone booth, use coins or cards to make a phone call.) Kim's mom came shortly after that and drove her to the nearest hospital. I still remembered the hospital staff have to use a wheelchair to get her into the consultation room. We waited anxiously outside the consultation room. Another friend of mine was sobbing uncontrollably. We were worried sick!

Finally she came out from the consulation room and we were told that she's doing fine. She did not suffer any injury just a nervous shock. Thanked God no brain damage. :p However we were told that she will never remember what actually happened during that period when she jumped out from the moving bus. Well, even until today when we talked about this incident, she will still stared blankly at us...
