MU Hotel - Ipoh, Perak

After our trip down from Cameron Highlands, we decided to stay at MU Hotel, a stylish boutique hotel located in the heart of Ipoh. It's just a 5-minute walk (350m) from our favourite Nasi Ganja Ipoh. The hotel has six floors, but the rooftop MU Bar is currently closed.

We spent the night in a standard twin room. The room looked modern but was on the dim side, even in the bathroom. The beds were soft and comfortable, each with a bolster. The room was clean, just not very spacious, and it didn't have a proper work desk. The wall-mounted smart TV only had nine channels, and while it worked fine for basic use, the TVN channel kept lagging. The air conditioning was freezing, but luckily the temperature could be adjusted. Unfortunately, the room wasn't very soundproof, as we could hear people walking in the hallway outside.

The bathroom had a shower and a toilet, each in its own separate cubicle with a shared sliding door. The water pressure was normal, and the water was hot enough. There was wall-mounted shower gel and shampoo, a complete set of toiletries, hand towels, and a wall-mounted hair dryer, though it lacked a round magnifying makeup mirror.

Facilities are limited to a small gym and kid's playroom on level M, with no swimming pool. There is a cashless basement parking lot behind the hotel, and guests can validate their credit, debit, or Touch 'n Go card at the reception before exiting to enjoy complimentary parking. Guests must have a room key card to access the lift to the room floors. The car park has a separate lift near the reception desk.

We had planned to check out of the hotel at 12pm and board a train to Dongguan at 1pm to meet with one of Ben's potential supplier. However, the plan was cancelled as the supplier was unable to make it and Ben only notified us after we checked out of the hotel at 12pm. Guangzhou - Day 2 (Canton Fair Complex - Beijing Road)

I woke up early in the morning with a swollen leg, but luckily it is still not that painful when I walk. I couldn't go back to sleep since there's a mosquito that keeps buzzing in my ear. It seems that the pesky insect didn't bother my partner as much as it did me. Anyway, we left our hotel around 10am to look for food. Whenever we travel, I will prepare a list of food itineraries. However, I do not have a complete list this time since I am unable to read Chinese characters. There is very limited information available online in English. There are a few famous restaurants on my list, but I'm not sure if the addresses are correct. So, we asked the hotel front desk about the nearest Guangzhou Restaurant. The Palm Suite @ Tanjung Tokong - Penang

The Palm Suite is located in Tanjung Tokong Penang, just within walking distance of McDonald's and Starbucks. There are ten of us, and his sister-in-law rented five suites. The room looks modern, and the bathroom comes with a hot tub. However, the hot tub is covered with grime. It is kind of gross because the tub is greasy too. There is a small stool for you to step up before going into the tub. I find it quite dangerous, as the stool can easily flip over, and there is no handle to hold while climbing into the hot tub.  The water pressure is good, and the water is hot enough. The bathroom features a sliding door with no lock. However, opening the bathroom sliding door will close the open wardrobe. If you do not close the in-room safe box door or your luggage protrudes from the closet, the sliding door will not open.
