Semporna Seaview Hotel - Semporna, Sabah

Semporna Seaview Hotel is strategically located in the town of Semporna and easily accessible to eating places. All the rooms are made with sea containers but bare in mind that there's no elevator. We decided to stay here for one night before we depart to Pom Pom Island the next day. However, our flight was delayed due to bad weather and when we reached Semporna, it's already after midnight! Glad that the hotel staff was kind enough to wait for us.

We stayed in a deluxe king room that comes with a small balcony (rusty balcony floor) overlooking the harbour, 2 complimentary bottles of drinking water, coffee or tea making facilities, disposable slippers, hair dryer and wall mounted TV with only 3 channels - HBO, Astro Ria and Hollywood. It's a smart TV with web browser but we're unable to control the TV using the remote. Room is small but looks clean. Bed is hard and bouncy. They only provide 2 pillows and both are hard. There's stains on the bedsheets and towel as well. It's a very basic room and there's no hotel room phone. If you need any assistance just call them using your handphone.

Bathroom is small and doesn't come with a door handle for you to slide the door. Apart from that, the door won't latch shut. There's black stains in the toilet bowl as well. Shower water pressure is low but luckily water is hot enough. Besides that, their shower gel dispenser is not working properly. We have difficulty getting the shower gel out from the dispenser. There's no shower cap or vanity kit. They only provide 2 sets of toothbrush and a half-used toilet roll. Our room is on the 3rd floor and luckily both of us didn't carry a heavy luggage as there's no elevator. Overall it wasn't a pleasant stay but it's a good experience staying in a sea container.
