Macau - Day 5
Casa De Cha Long Wa is located across the famous Red Market in Rua Norte do Mercado, within 30 minutes walking distance or 9 minutes drive from Hotel Beverly Plaza Macau. We decided to take Uber from our hotel to this dim sum restaurant. (MOP$ 32.74). Casa De Cha Long Wa is a traditional tea house for dim sum. We arrived there around 11am and it was quite empty. There's a self-service trolley dim sum located beside the staircase. You will have to open the basket one by one to select your preferred dim sum.
We only took the steamed BBQ pork buns and pork dumplings. There's not much of a selection. I was a bit disappointed because the dim sum was not hot enough while serving. Hence, the pork dumpling's skin was dry and hard but the pork filling was good. On the other hand, steamed BBQ pork bun tasted so-so with too little pork filling. The staff was very friendly and recommended us to try their boiled chicken in Cantonese style with spring onions and mashed ginger. We ordered quarter chicken and surprisingly it was really good. Chicken was tender and juicy.

We decided to give up on Our Lady of Fatima Church and start looking for St. Anthony's Church. On the way, we saw this Tou Tei Temple. It's just 7 minutes walk from Tai Fung Supermarket. Tou Tei Temple is dedicated to Tou Tei, the God of the earth. Annual feast of Tou Tei falls on the 2nd day of the 2nd lunar month. Buddhist devotees will come and pay their respects to Tou Tei at this temple.

We decided to try out the street food in Senado Square since we saw few rows of shops selling variety of food and drinks. We bought pork chop bun from Tai Lei Loi Kei. I didn't really like it because the pork chop was too salty and dry for me.

Pork chop bun - MOP$ 48
Next, we saw a row of shops selling fish ball, meatballs, vegetables and sausages skewers. I decided to try the first shop because it has longer queues compared with others. The owner gave me an empty bowl to select my preferred skewers and later cooked it in a flavoured broth. She then gave me a tag number and called out my number once it's ready. They are then served in a small styrofoam cup and poured in some yellow curry sauce depending whether you like it spicy or non-spicy. It was delicious. I love the fish balls, tofu and beancurd stuffed with fish paste. Unique curry taste and not too spicy for me.

I saw a lot of people holding a cup of ice blended mango and decided to give it a try. The mangoes were huge! Refreshing drink and I love the mango because it's sweet, smooth and juicy. However, I didn't really enjoy the white foamy cream as I find it tasteless.
Ice blended mango - MOP$ 39
All the street food that we had is located nearby St. Dominic Church. It's almost 3pm, just nice for a tea break since we had very light lunch. On the way heading to Margaret's Cafe e Nata (famous for Portuguese egg tarts), we passed by Cathedral Square. This famous Portuguese egg tarts shop is just 5 minutes walking distance from St. Dominic Church. It is located in a hidden alley and look at the crowds queuing outside the shop just to buy the tarts! Our tarts were fresh out of the oven and piping hot. Flaky crust and creamy egg custard filling with slightly burnt caramel. Overall taste is okay.

Since it's our last night in Macau, we plan to visit Taipa Flea Market and spent the evening at Venetian Macau (world largest casino). We took the free shuttle bus from Grand Lisboa Casino to Macau Ferry Terminal and from there we took another free shuttle bus from Macau Ferry Terminal to Galaxy Macau. Taipa Flea Market is 15 minutes walking distance from Galaxy Macau. However, passengers must be 21 years old to board the free shuttle bus from Grand Lisboa Casino.
Since we were at Macau Ferry Terminal, we decided to buy our ferry ticket from Macau to SkyPier at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) one day earlier. SkyPier ferry service is for transfer passengers only. You will need to provide your flight information and passport in order to purchase the ferry ticket. (MOP 254 per person)

Gelatina Musang Mok Yi Kei is just 2 minutes walk from Taipa Flea Market. The owner was very friendly and nice. She even let us try their Musang king durian ice cream, D24 durian ice cream and saw dust pudding. I didn't really fancy their durian ice cream and saw dust pudding. Ended up we bought their chilled mango sago cream with pomelo and mango jelly. Chilled mango sago cream was nice and not too sweet. On the other hand, mango jelly tasted okay but a little pricey with small portion.

Venetian Macau is 11 minutes walking distance from Casa de Pasto Seng Cheong. We were too tired to walk and decided to take Uber (MOP$ 26.15) I was impressed with Venetian Macau. Beautiful hotel with grand paintings and architecture. The Grand Canal Shoppes at Venetian Macau has an indoor artificial sky that looks so real. Besides that, you can try their Gondola rides as well.

Lord Stow’s Bakery is located inside The Grand Canal Shoppes. We bought a Portuguese egg tart and it was good. I prefer Lord Stow's Portuguese egg tart because it has a flaky and light crust compared to Margaret's Cafe e Nata's Portuguese egg tart. Apart from that, egg custard filling was creamy and delicious.
We took the free shuttle bus from Venetian Macau to Macau Ferry Terminal and from there we took another free shuttle bus from Macau Ferry Terminal to Grand Lisboa Hotel. Walking distance from Grand Lisboa Hotel to Beverly Plaza Macau is only 3 minutes. Beverly Plaza Macau do provide free shuttle bus from Macau Ferry Terminal, however the frequency is only once every hour compared to Grand Lisboa free shuttle which departs every 15 minutes.
