Hotel Beverly Plaza Macau

Our initial plan was to stay 5 days 4 nights in Hong Kong and 2 days 1 night in Macau. However, due to the expensive hotel rates in Hong Kong (exhibition week) we decided to stay 3 nights in Hong Kong and 2 nights in Macau. We booked Hotel Beverly Plaza through agoda.com. This hotel is located in central of Macau, 7 minutes drive from Macau Ferry Terminal and 12 minutes walking distance to Senado Square.

Hotel Beverly Plaza provides a free shuttle service between hotel and Macau Ferry Terminal. Once you exit from Macau Ferry Terminal, turn left and all the free shuttle buses are parked along the road. These free shuttle buses are for hotels located in Macau Island only. If you are staying in Taipa Island, free hotel shuttle busses are located across the road. Not all the hotels provide free shuttle service from Macau Ferry Terminal. Check with your hotel whether they offers this service.

We waited for more than an hour and our hotel shuttle bus was no where to be seen. Ended up we took Uber from Macau Ferry Terminal to Hotel Beverly Plaza. (Cost: MOP 36.43) When we check with the front desk staff, seems that this hotel free shuttle bus combines with 3 other hotels as well. Their hotel logo printed on the bus was too small and I guess we overlooked it. (Check out the photo of the free shuttle bus below)

We stayed in a superior room comes with 2 single beds. Mattress was hard. It's good for those with back pain but I prefer a medium firm mattress as it's more comfortable. They provided a handy phone for guests to use both in and outside the hotel which I thought was a great idea. However, battery life was low (less than an hour with limited usage) This handy phone provides unlimited mobile internet, city guide and unlimited local and international calls*. (*refer to the handy phone for the list of countries and regions supported) Clean and spacious room but it was dimly lighted. Equipped with minibar, tea or coffee making facilities, personal safe, ironing facilities, hair dryer, toiletries, 2 complimentary bottles of mineral water, air conditioned room with individual control, free wifi and flat-screen TV with variety of channels (adult movies available by subscription).

Bathroom comes with a bathtub. Hot shower was great and makes me feel good after a long walk. Spacious bathroom but ceiling looks a bit run down. Overall not a very pleasant stay. Conceirge staff was impatient and unfriendly. I didn't feel welcome staying in this hotel.

Our stay in  Kinabalu Pine Resort  comes with breakfast for 2 adults. Breakfast start from 7am to 10am. They only serve ala-carte breakfast and you need to pre-book it at The Pines Restaurant latest by 9.30pm for your next day's breakfast. There's Malay, Chinese, Western or kids breakfast set. Apart from that, there's free flow of Tenom coffee, Sabah tea, mango and orange juice. Hounon Ridge Farmstay & Camping - Kundasang, Sabah

Hounon Ridge Farmstay is located at Kampung Himbaan Bundu Tuhan, 36 minutes drive from Kundasang town. The road heading to Bundu Tuhan is very steep and narrow. There's no street light and driving at night can be hazardous if you are not familiar with the road condition. Be particularly alert when driving and watch out for cows, chickens and stray dogs on the side of the road. There's 4 types of room available. If you are the adventurous type and not afraid of cold, you can even camp outside Hounon Ridge Farmstay. Our room was on the 1st floor overlooking Mount Kinabalu. Great view and you can slide the glass window to get some fresh air.
