Hong Kong - Day 2 (Sheung Wan - Central - The Peak - Madame Tussauds - Sky Terrace 428)
Hong Kong consists of 3 main territories - Hong Kong Island, Kowloon peninsula and New Territories. On our first day we focus mainly on Kowloon peninsula. You can read more about it here. On our second day, we decided to explore Hong Kong Island. We took MTR from Tsim Sha Tsui to Sheung Wan (HKD 9.70 per person) and had our brunch at Lan Fong Yuen, just 2 minutes walk from MTR Sheung Wan Station Exit D.
We ordered iced milk tea and toast with butter. Do note that there's a minimum charge of HKD 20 per person applies. I just love their iced milk tea and toast with butter. One of the best milk tea I have ever had. Taste smooth, silky, light in weight and not too sweet. Toast with butter was awesome too. Spread some honey on your hot toast and it tastes heavenly!

Western Market, an Edwardian-style building is located in Sheung Wan, Hong Kong Island, only 8 minutes walk from Lan Fong Yuen. I was expecting the place to be crowded with people but it turned out to be a very quiet mall. There's shops selling arts and crafts on the ground floor, a wide range of fabric merchants on the first floor and top floor is a banquet hall used for weddings.

You may try the double-decker tram ride travel from one end of Hong Kong Island to the other but I prefer exploring on foot. Spotted a moving tram while walking to our next destination.

Upper Lascar Row is just 5 minutes walk from Western Market. Also known as Cat Street Market, it is a place where you can find "treasures". The street is famous for antiques shops, a perfect shopping place for antique lovers.

Kau Kee Beef Brisket is just 4 minutes walk from Man Mo Temple and it's famous for their beef brisket noodles. The shop will only open at 12.30pm but the crowds had already started queuing up outside the shop before 12pm! Do note that there's a minimum charge of HKD 40 per person applies and sharing a table in Hong Kong is a norm. Our small table accommodates 6 person and service was pretty fast. We only ordered 2 glasses of drinks and 1 bowl of beef brisket noodles. Soft and tender beef brisket served with noodles. I love the spongy and chewy noodle texture. Simply delicious.

Next, we decided to try this sugar cane puddino, 3 minutes walk from Kau Kee Beef Brisket. It has a soft and bouncy texture but lack of sugar cane aroma. I think it will taste better if served cold.

Another must eat local food in Hong Kong is egg tart. Egg tart is one of my favourite pastry and here we are at Tai Cheong Bakery, 2 minutes walk from Kung Lee Sugarcane. The curtard and crust tasted okay. However, I prefer a buttery and crunchy crust.

Lan Kwai Fong is one of Hong Kong's most popular nightlife - hubs of clubs, bars and restaurant, just 5 minutes walk from Tai Cheong Bakery.

Duddell Street is just 350m from Lan Kwai Fong. It took us 5 minutes to walk from Lan Kwai Fong to Duddell Street. Along the way we passed by this beautiful Old Dairy Farm building in Wyndham Street. The lamps at the head and foot of the steps of Duddell Street were built between 1075 and 1889. The only four gas lamps remaining in Hong Kong and are turned on daily at 6pm

Next stop - St. John's Cathedral, Hong Kong oldest Western church, 9 minutes walk from Duddell Street. There's few benches placed along the hilly road heading towards the church. You can sit and rest for a few minutes just like what we did. Opposite St. John's Cathedral is Cheung Kong Park, small garden open to the public.

Finally we arrived at the Peak Tram Lower Terminus, just 4 minutes walk from St. John's Cathedral. The tram departs every 15 minutes. You may purchase your ticket to the Madame Tussauds Hong Kong, Sky Terrace 428 and Tram at the Peak Tram Lower Terminus, appointed travel agent, Madame Tussauds Hong Kong website or through www.klook.com. Compare the price before making any purchase. However, for Klook and Madame Tussauds Hong Kong website, you need to purchase the ticket at least 1 day in advance.
We bought our last minute 3 in 1 combo at Peak Tram Lower Terminus consist of Peak Tram return, Sky Terrace and Madame Tussauds ticket at the price of HKD 325 per person. We queued for almost an hour to get on the tram even though it's a weekday. Finally we're at Peak Tower, and our first stop was Madame Tussauds. We spent around 1 hour before we moved to Sky Terrace 428.
There's over 100 lifelike wax figures and 11 interative zones - Hong Kong glamour, Royal family, Historical & National Heroes, TV Studio, World Premiere, Kung Fu Zone, K-wave Zone, The Champions, Authentic History, Music Icons and Fantasy Kingdom. Take note, there's no restroom inside Madame Tussauds Hong Kong or Sky Terrace 428.

Sky Terrrace 428 is located on top of The Peak Tower with an altitude of 428m above sea level. It is the highest viewing platform in Hong Kong and you can enjoy the spectacular views of Hong Kong. We waited until 7pm at the Sky Terrace to capture the night view of Hong Kong city. Such an amazing view.

Tram
The queue for the tram heading down was so long. Ended up we decided to have our dinner at Mak's Noodle. I ordered shrimp wanton noodles while my partner ordered beef brisket and wanton noodle. Both were good. However, I felt that the soup base at Mak's Noodle Jordan, Kowloon taste better compared to this outlet.

We walked almost 15 minutes from the Peak Tram Lower Terminus to Yat Lok Roast Goose just to try their roast goose, before the shop close at 9pm. Do note that there's a minimum charge of HKD 50 per person applies. The shop is small and crowded. I ordered roast goose drumstick noodles while my partner ordered roasted pork with bbq pork rice and a can of Coke (HKD 18 and additional charge of HKD 3 for ice cubes) Overall taste was okay.

We walked to Central MTR Station and took MTR back to Tsim Sha Tsui (HKD 8.7 per person). Central MTR is 6 minutes walk from Yat Lok Roast Goose. We were too tired to walk any further and decided to call it a day.
