Kemaman, Terengganu - Food Hunting Trip (Day II)

We started our day with a buffet breakfast at Restoran Kampong Meraga Beris in Resorts World Kijal. Buffet breakfast starts from 7am ~ 10.30am. You can start your day with a large choice of breads such as croissants, sandwiches, muffins, cereals, fruits, juices and hot or cold drinks.

Whenever I go for buffet  breakfast, I will hunt for my favourite fried eggs with baked beans, porridge with pickled lettuces, hash browns and fresh fruits mixed with yogurts. I had the fried eggs and it was nice but the porridge was cold and the hash browns were hard. We tried the nasi dagang, one of the most popular and well know food in Terengganu - rice steamed with coconut milk served with curry fish and vegetable pickles. The rice turned out to be a bit too hard for my liking and the curry fish tasted fishy. Overall the food was so-so. However my partner love their roti canai very much.

While dinning, we can see birds and flies flying around. So make sure you don't leave your food on table unattended and watch out for bird droppings!!!

We decided to drop by Kedai Kopi Hai Peng again for our late lunch to try out new foods. We ordered the Italian pasta with Asian touch - spaghetti with sardine and cucumber. Initially we were hesitant to order this dish because the combination doesn't sounds right. Guess what! It turned out to be delicious! The whole combination was perfect and the spaghetti is cooked "Al dente"

Besides that we ordered the peanut butter banana sandwich with honey (toasted bread sandwiching a gooey melted layer of peanut butter and fresh bananas), french toast, half boiled eggs with black pepper and soya sauce, milk tea and iced coffee. Both the drinks were good. Not too sweet and not too strong.

Grandview cafe is situated within walking distance from Resorts World Kijal. We decided to have our dinner nearby since I wasn't feeling very well maybe due to the heat and the long distance travelling. The restaurant was quite empty when we walked in. First thing that ran into my mind was to get a coconut water! I need to reduce my body heat! We were lucky that they do sell coconut water here eventhough it was not mentioned in the menu.

We ordered a steamed fish, fried vegetables with oyster sauce and stuffed-crab. The fish was fresh, the fried vege was ok and the stuffed-crab was so-so. Overall the food was ok. End of our meal they served us a complimentary plate of fresh fruits.
