New Zealand - Day 8 (Oamaru - Geraldine - Christchurch)

On the last day of the trip we had Subway sandwiches for breakfast, checked out from Heritage Court and wandered around Oamaru town before heading to the airport in Christchurch. We stopped by Whitestone Cheese hoping to see the cheese making process but was disappointed when we found out they have completed the process. Ended up we hang around the cafe and tried some of the cheese. I tried a small portion of the cheese and it was too cheesy and rich for me. I can't remember the name of the cheese that I have tried but the cheese taste was very strong.
 
We continued our journey and stopped by Village Inn in Geraldine town to have our lunch. We ordered a ribeye steak - $22 (cooked the way you like it, served with crunchy fries and either chef's salad or two fried eggs) We didn't take any photos of the food because we were too hungry by the time the food was served. We proceed with our journey and reached Christchurch in the evening. We were unable to drive around the Christchurch town because most of the road still closed due to the earthquake.
 
We had KFC grilled chicken again for our dinner before we fly back to Malaysia. We just couldn't resist the temptation. So, this was when an interesting story came into the picture. Click here to read what happened. ;) 
 
We left Christchurch with a heavy heart. The whole journey was great and we had lots of fun. If you asked me what was the most memorable moment in New Zealand? There were 3 special moments - breathtaking view of the milky way, shooting star and rainbow. Yes... we managed to see the end of the rainbow! The rainbow was so beautiful and clear but of cause we can't find "pot of gold" at the end of the rainbow. :)

Our stay in  Kinabalu Pine Resort  comes with breakfast for 2 adults. Breakfast start from 7am to 10am. They only serve ala-carte breakfast and you need to pre-book it at The Pines Restaurant latest by 9.30pm for your next day's breakfast. There's Malay, Chinese, Western or kids breakfast set. Apart from that, there's free flow of Tenom coffee, Sabah tea, mango and orange juice. Hounon Ridge Farmstay & Camping - Kundasang, Sabah

Hounon Ridge Farmstay is located at Kampung Himbaan Bundu Tuhan, 36 minutes drive from Kundasang town. The road heading to Bundu Tuhan is very steep and narrow. There's no street light and driving at night can be hazardous if you are not familiar with the road condition. Be particularly alert when driving and watch out for cows, chickens and stray dogs on the side of the road. There's 4 types of room available. If you are the adventurous type and not afraid of cold, you can even camp outside Hounon Ridge Farmstay. Room type: a) Standard quad room b) Standard double room without balcony c) Standard double room with balcony d) Dormitory - 10 person e) Camping We stayed in a standard double room without balcony. Our room was on the 1st floor overlooking Mount Kinabalu. Great view and you can slide the glass window to get some fresh air.
