Dusit Princess Moonrise Beach Resort - Phu Quoc, Vietnam

The Dusit Princess Moonrise Beach Resort is located on the west coast of Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam. It's just a 9-minute drive (5.9km) from the Phu Quoc International Airport. The resort provides complimentary airport shuttle service, and a VinBus stop is only 300m away. VinBus is a free electric bus service operated by Vingroup in Phu Quoc. The buses are modern, air-conditioned and they connect key destinations on the island, including Phu Quoc International Airport, Duong Dong Town, Long Beach and Grand World Phu Quoc. The frequency of VinBus services varies according to route. Route 17, which connects Phu Quoc International Airport to Grand World, departs every 15 minutes. You may find the bus schedule on their website or by downloading their app.

We stayed five nights in a deluxe room featuring a king-sized bed, self-controlled air conditioning, and a smart TV with access to various channels, Netflix, and YouTube. The room was well-equipped with an in-room safe, two pairs of slippers, a beach basket with two towels, umbrellas, robes, a hairdryer, a shoehorn, a shoe brush, a two-seater sofa, a work desk, a mini fridge, complimentary bottled water, coffee or tea-making facilities, complimentary WiFi, and a private balcony with a sun lounger. A full set of toiletries was also provided, although shavers were not included.

The room was spacious, offering plenty of room to unwind. However, I did notice a faint musty smell upon arrival, which lingered slightly throughout our stay. The bathroom features an open concept, whereby the shower and toilet are visible from the room, offering no privacy. The shower and toilet each had their own transparent cubicles. While the water was pleasantly hot, the pressure was just average. On the upside, the bed was very comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep after each day of exploring. The lighting was also a bit dim, which might not suit everyone. We were glad to find that the power outlets were compatible with our country's plug, making it easy to charge our devices without adapters.

The resort features an infinity pool that overlooks the ocean and a gym. Our stay included a buffet breakfast for two at Palm Kitchen, available daily from 6.30am to 10am, with a variety of options to start the day right. Overall, it was a pleasant and enjoyable stay. Most of the staff were warm and welcoming, with the exception of the bellboy, who appeared cranky in contrast to the otherwise pleasant service.
