Genting Highlands - 3 days 2 nights
The last time I went to Genting Highlands was back in 2013. How time flies. During that time, I was invited by Nuffnang to join the other bloggers for an event. You can read about it by clicking this link - RWGenting YNOT Graffiti Competition Art Finale Event. This round we took a Grab from KLIA to Genting Highlands (easiest and most hassle free way) and the journey took us less than 2 hours.
We checked in First World Hotel around 3.30pm and had our tea break at Richdad. My partner ordered toast bread, half boiled egg and "teh ping" (iced tea with condensed milk). Since I'm still full from my earlier McD lunch at the airport I decided to go with Chocolate Chip Frappe. My drink was okay but not a smooth blend as there's chunky ice in it. On the other hand, "teh ping" was a bit bitter. Apart from that, toast bread was not crispy enough and the egg was cold.

We had lobster from Burger & Lobster for dinner. They serve fresh Canadian lobster steamed or grilled to your liking with a choice of clarified butter or Burger & Lobster's famous lemon and garlic butter. You may go for their Chili lobster too served with signature brioche without chips and salad. We decided to order their Chili lobster. It's nice but not superb. Lobster was fresh and I like their brioche.
Besides that, we ordered a lobster roll served chilled in their signature toasted brioche roll. There's three types of lobster roll for you to choose from:
a) The chili - with signature chili sauce
a) The chili - with signature chili sauce
b) The original - with Japanese mayonnaise
c) Seven Samurai - with their seven spices sauce
We had the original roll which was nice. It reminds us of Burger & Lobster in London...

We walked around Sky Avenue and First World Plaza after dinner. There's mall, an indoor Theme Park, Casino, F&B outlets, snow world, bowling, karaoke and Zouk club. We went to Zouk club around 11pm but sadly there's no crowd. Admission fee is free of charge.

We started off day 2 at Genting Highlands by having our brunch at Malaysian Food Street. I had Ipoh Kai See Hor Fun Soup and it's nice. In cold weather, it's best to eat a bowl of hot noodle soup. My partner had Hainanese Chicken rice and it's okay. We ordered a cup of "teh ping" and watermelon juice. Both were nice but the watermelon juice was only 3/4 full.

After our brunch we purchased a return Skyway ticket to Genting Premium Outlets (RM 16 per person). We spent some time shopping, had our tea break at Coffee Bean and a quick snack at Mary Brown before heading back to First World Plaza. Mary Brown is located inside the Food Court. They're using cashless system whereby you need to purchase a card from the cashier counter and top up your amount before queuing at the food stalls. Same concept is applied at the Malaysian Food Street. If you still have balance money inside the card, you may redeem it from the cashier counter.

We had our dinner at The Olive Restaurant and guess what? We were the only customer dining in this restaurant. This is the first time I'm in a fine dining restaurant and the ambience is nice. They served free bread baskets before the meal and a starter as well. The starter was some sort of Japanese rice (I can't remember the name as it sounded so complicated when the waitress mentioned it to me) It tasted so so for me.
We ordered one of their signature dish - Scallop Capellini and it turned out to be one of the worst dish of the night. Capellini was bland and soggy. It's definitely not worth the price! However, Miyazaki Wagyu on the other hand was good. It is served on a hot plate. This beef is so exquisite, it melts in your mouth. One of the best dish that we had that night and one of the most expensive dish that we have ever tried. At the end of the meal, they served us a complimentary dessert. It tastes like Nama chocolate, rich and smooth.

After our dinner, we stumbled upon this bird nest shop and decided to give it a try. It's good. Not too sweet and it's a good combination of bird's nest, dried longan and red dates.

We checked out from First World Hotel before 11am on our 3rd day and had our brunch at Go Noodle House, Sky Avenue before taking a Grab car back to Petaling Jaya. I had fish ball noodles while my partner had noodles with pork belly slices. Mine was good. Love the fish balls and soup was full of flavour. Overall we had a relaxing 3 days 2 night stay at Genting Highlands. Weather was nice and cool. Definitely we will be back again in near future.
