Gaya Island Resort Day 3 - Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

Time flies and it's our final day here at Gaya Island Resort. Two days in a row we had our buffet breakfast at Feast Village. As mentioned in my previous blog, we booked a 3 days 2 night Residents package which includes daily buffet breakfast and dinner at Feast Village and two-course lunch at Feast Village or Pool Bar & Lounger or Tavajun Bay. You may check out my earlier blog as per below link:

Buffet breakfast at Feast Village starts from 7am to 10.30am. Feast Village serves both Western and Asian dishes. Instead of having my favourite fried egg with baked bean, I had porridge instead. It was good. It feels good to have hot porridge in the morning and a healthy way to start the day. :) Besides that, they serves freshly squeezed juices as well.

We checked out from the resort at 11.30am and had our two-course lunch at Feast Village before we took the 3pm speedboat back to Jesselton Point. We get to choose either an appetizer and a main course or a main course with a dessert. Since we were still quite full from our earlier buffet breakfast we chose a main course and a dessert. My partner had grilled tenderloin while I had grilled fillet catch of the day. Beef was good. It's tender, juicy and cooked to perfection without any blood. Whereas my grilled fillet was fresh and tasty.

However, we were a bit disappointed when they served us the dessert. My partner ordered banana split and when the ice cream came, it's already melted. (you may choose either chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, coconut, durian or banana ice cream / calamansi, lemongrass, lemon or raspberry sherbet) Suppose I wanted to order the same dessert but I ended up with cheese cake instead. Overall we enjoyed our main course very much but not the melted ice cream. We had a great stay and a very relaxing vacation. Staff were so friendly and they make us feel so welcome...
