London - Day 7 (Long-haul flight)

It's our last day here in London and before we check out from the hotel we had our brunch at Westminster Kitchen just 2 minutes walking distance from Premier Inn London County Hall. Breakfast starts from 7am to 12pm everyday. I ordered chicken Caesar salad comes with grilled chicken fillet, crispy romaine lettuce, garlic, herbs. croutons, Caesar dressing and grana Padano cheese. My partner ordered Full English breakfast comes with eggs, beans, mushroom, hash brown, tomato, bacon and Cumberland sausage. Overall breakfast was good and waiter was very friendly too. I'm really going to miss the English breakfast when I'm back home.

We checked out from the hotel at 12pm and our organiser rented a seven passenger van which came and pick us up around 12.30pm. Journey from hotel to Heathrow airport (Terminal 4) took around an hour. Our flight back home was scheduled at 9.35pm (London time). We were at the airport 8 hours earlier than our departure time as our organiser accidentally saw the wrong departure time. 



Lambeth Bridge


There's nothing much that we can shop here in Heathrow Airport Terminal 4. We just hang around at Costa Coffee house and had some tea break before we had our early dinner at this Italian restaurant named Carluccio's. We shared a plate of Spaghetti Carbonara comes with eggs, Grana Padano cheese, guanciale and black pepper. My partner enjoyed it very much. We ordered a slice of Tiramisu as well but taste wise not as good as the one that I had at Gio Ristorante in Manchester.

Our journey back to KLIA took around 13 hours 15 minutes and we reached KLIA around 5.45pm (Malaysia time). Our connecting flight to KKIA at 7.55pm has been cancelled and the earliest flight available was 8.55pm. We have no other option but to wait... Finally after 29 hours including waiting time at the airport we survived and reached home safely.

Overall the trip was fun and enjoyable. Even though it was a short trip, we had a really great time both in Manchester and London. Thanks to brother Stephen for organising this trip and we will definitely miss you Manchester and London...

Philippines - Day 3 (Manila Chinatown - Intramuros - SM Mall of Asia)

Jollibee is a Filipino multinational chain of fast food restaurants. On the day of arrival, we asked our friendly Grab driver what is the must-try food in Philippines and he mentioned Jollibee. So here we at Jollibee located inside Landmark Department Store just 4 minutes (250m) walking distance from  New World Makati Hotel . We ordered 2 pieces of chicken served with rice and drink. Rice is soft. Fried chicken is crispy, flavourful and tender. It comes together with a brown gravy which taste like KFC mashed potatoes gravy. Overall it's good. Hounon Ridge Farmstay & Camping - Kundasang, Sabah

Hounon Ridge Farmstay is located at Kampung Himbaan Bundu Tuhan, 36 minutes drive from Kundasang town. The road heading to Bundu Tuhan is very steep and narrow. There's no street light and driving at night can be hazardous if you are not familiar with the road condition. Be particularly alert when driving and watch out for cows, chickens and stray dogs on the side of the road. There's 4 types of room available. If you are the adventurous type and not afraid of cold, you can even camp outside Hounon Ridge Farmstay. Room type: a) Standard quad room b) Standard double room without balcony c) Standard double room with balcony d) Dormitory - 10 person e) Camping We stayed in a standard double room without balcony. Our room was on the 1st floor overlooking Mount Kinabalu. Great view and you can slide the glass window to get some fresh air.
