Busselton Jetty - Dunsborough - Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse (Day 1) - Western Australia

We had our brunch at Hungry Jack before we kick start our Aussie road trip to Margaret River. I had ham and cheese toastie while my partner had deluxe brekky roll consists of premium eye bacon, mustard, mayo and tomato relish on a soft brioche bun. His brunch tasted so much better than mine and I just love the golden brown crispy hash brown. Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.

On the way to Margaret River, we stopped by Busselton Jetty. At 1.8km, Busselton Jetty is the longest timber pilled Jetty in the Southern Hemisphere. We decided to take the long walk instead of taking the Jetty Train. You can always catch the train if you don't feel like walking the 3.6km return trip. It is a popular tourist attraction and a great place to catch fish.

We had our late lunch at Vasse Bar & Kitchen, just 3 minutes drive or 13 minutes walk from Busselton Jetty. We ordered a big plate of Caesar salad comes with baby cos lettuce, crispy bacon, croutons, egg, anchovies, Parmesan and Caesar dressing. You can choose to add either chicken tenderloins or smoked Australian Salmon. We decided to add grilled chicken tenderloins and it was good. Chicken was tender and juicy. Only setback was the anchovies. It's too salty for us.

It's almost 3.30pm by the time we finished our late lunch. The timing was just right for us to check into our hotel room. Ramada Resort Dunsborough is approximately 17 minutes drive from Busselton Jetty. We took some time to freshen up and hang around the resort area before driving to Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse. On the way, we bumped into a wild kangaroo crossing the road. By the time we reached the lighthouse it was almost dark. The sunset around 5.30pm and basically we were unable to proceed for any sight seeing after that.

We head back to Ramada Resort Dunsborough and had our dinner at Toby's Restaurant and Bar. I ordered fish of the day while my partner ordered grilled T-bone steak served with cream cheese mash, caramelized onion and steamed asparagus. I have to say that we were both disappointed with our dishes. Poor food presentation for the grilled T-bone steak and both our dishes weren't tasty at all. Sorry to say this but it's the worst grilled T-bone steak that we have ever had!
