Mee Soup Kota Belud - Sabah
We had our lunch at this shop beside Gerai Makan Wong Mui Lan in Kota Belud, Sabah. We couldn't see any shop name but this wooden shop is covered with zinc roof, located behind UMNO Kota Belud building in Kota Belud town. Local calls it mee sup Kota Belud. This shop made their own noodle and it was good. I like their soft noodle texture and it's a perfect combination with the crispy fried shallot. Apart from that, the broth was tasty too.
We tried a packet of "tapai pulut" sold by the local people outside the shop. Basically it's a traditional fermented rice wrapped in taro leaves. The taste was sweet, tangy, slightly alcoholic and a bit yeasty. Frankly I don't really like it. We couldn't finish the whole packet as the taste was too strong for us.
