A good friend of ours (lovely couple) gave us a complimentary one night stay in a superior room for 2 persons at Promenade Hotel Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. They even gave us a voucher to upgrade the room from a superior room to a deluxe room! Thanks, guys. We really appreciate it! We had a great time hanging around KK town until late night and Hotel Promenade was just a short walking distance from Hard Rock Cafe , Kota Kinabalu. We checked in a deluxe room offer views of the swimming pool and the sea. The only difference between a superior and deluxe room is the view. (city view vs sea view). Our room comes with a king size bed, LCD TV, working desk, in room safe deposit box, minibar, tea and coffee making facilities, free internet connection, complimentary 2 bottles of drinking water, self controlled air conditioning, hair dryer, bathroom with cold or hot shower, bathtub (slow water drainage), iron & ironing board and limited TV channels (TV1, TV2, TV3, NTV7, BBC World, Phoenix Ch...

A special thanks to our friend for giving us a complimentary two nights stay in a deluxe golf view room at The Pacific Sutera Hotel. We really enjoyed our stay and had a wonderful stress free time at The Pacific Sutera Hotel. Best moment was lying in the gently swaying hammock and listened to the sounds of the ocean waves at night. Apart from that, the private beach is a great place to watch the sunset. Click  here  to see the sunset photos taken using my Sony Cybershoot RX100. Deluxe room comes with a king size bed, LCD TV, in room safe box, working desk, iron, ironing board, robe, slippers, complimentary snack and 2 bottles of drinking water, tea and coffee making facilities, complimentary internet connection, self controlled air conditioning, limited Astro Channel (Astro Citra, Arena, Fox movies, AXN, Australia Plus, Nickelodeon, Kah Lai Toi, Phoenix, NHK, KBS World, CCTV 4, CCTV News, Asian Food Channel, Al-Jazeera, BBC World, CNBC Asia, Fox Sport 2 and Golf Channel),...

Kalamatas Resto'ba - Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

It's only 4.30pm and we are feeling hungry. We need some snacks!!! So we googled and saw some good food reviews of this restaurant and decided to give it a try. Great ambience! Restaurant was dimly lit and empty when we arrived. They are only open for dinner and drinks. Shortly after that more customers came in for a drink. We went through the menu and decided to order an appetizer and one main course. We ordered Kalamatas combo (one of the chef recommended) and crispy fried chicken. Kalamantas combo comes with 2 pcs of spicy chicken wings, fried spring rolls and calamari, served with three choices of dressing. Calamari was nicely battered and crispy but it doesn't taste good at all. There's a fishy taste and when we confronted the waitress, we found out that they only serve frozen calamari. It was very nice of her to offer a replacement for the calamari with some other side dishes but we rejected as most likely we are unable to finish it. Spicy chicken wings and fried...
