Krishna Fish Head Restaurant - Kota Kinabalu, Sabah
One of Malaysian favourite Indian food is banana leaf rice. Rice is served on a banana leaf and eaten with your bare hand together with other dishes. If you are uncomfortable using your hands, you can request a fork and spoon. However, if you are not afraid of getting your hand dirty, experience the thrill of eating with your bare hands in public.
Located at Penampang Sabah, Krishna Fish Head Restaurant serves daily set meal and each set meal comes with one piece of papadam, 3 types of veges (one time refill), rasem / dhal / curry, free flow of teh tarik and your choice of either:

Besides that, they serve vegetarian set meal as well and briyani set meal which is only available on Friday and Saturday. Apart from the set meal, there's side orders such as soup, crab, quail, prawn, squid, eggs and curry fish head (medium, large or extra large fish head).
My first visit to this restaurant I tried their curry chicken set meal and I'm hooked to it. I just love their curry chicken. Chicken was tender, gravy was thick and full of flavour. It was well balanced and not too spicy for me. Papadam was good too. Papadam is a thin, crispy, disc-shaped, served as an appetizer to an Indian meal. Do not leave it too long on the table as it will become "less crispy" and tend to be soggy. What I normally do is to crushed the papadam and have it with rice and curry gravy. Simply delicious!
Each set meal comes with 3 types of vegetables which can be refilled only once. They serve different types of vegetables daily. This round they serve bean sprouts, eggplant and cucumber with carrots. End of your meal, you will get a cup of teh tarik. I quite like it because it's not too sweet and it will be perfect if it's creamier.
Fast service because most of the food already prepared in advance. On and off you will hear the boss rushing his staff to clear the table or to serve the food. He's very friendly towards the customers and always ensure that we are pleased with the food. There's an air-conditioner room available upstairs but they charge a higher price for the food. On top of that, staff in charge was not very friendly either. I prefer to dine downstairs with better service.
