Casa Casa - Semporna, Sabah

Image
Casa Casa is located in Semporna town, just 1km from the Sipadan Kapalai Resort Jetty. The motel is a converted shop lot with only two floors. Upon check-in, we were assigned a room in a different building. It was located next to Secawan Cafe, approximately a 2-minute walk (110m) from the reception area. A deposit of RM 50 was required at check-in. One of the staff members led us there and carried my partner's luggage, while my partner had to drag mine. The room was on the first floor and could only be accessed by stairs, which were quite dark. The only security measure in place was scanning your room card before entering the staircase leading to the rooms. One drawback was that the door could be locked from the inside. If another guest accidentally locked it, those outside would not be able to enter the building through that entrance. However, there was also an open sliding door from Secawan Cafe that connected directly to the same staircase. The building had four rooms, while the...

Pearl Island Resort - Bohey Dulang Island, Sabah

Image
Pearl Island Resort is a new luxury water chalet resort located on Bohey Dulang Island in Sabah, Malaysia. This resort is managed by the same management as  Kapalai Dive Resort . Currently, the resort has 26 chalets, with more under construction. My partner booked a 4-day, 3-night non-diver package at RM 2,910.60 per person, including 8% SST. The booking was made through Unique Inworld Sdn Bhd, the appointed travel agent. The package includes transfers between Tawau Airport - Semporna private jetty - Pearl Island Resort - Semporna private jetty - Tawau Airport by van and speedboat, full board meals (breakfast, lunch, tea break & dinner in buffet style), free flow of coffee/tea, chilled juice, cold water, and light snacks at the restaurant. The chalet at Pearl Island Resort was spacious and generally well equipped. It came with a king-size bed and a single bed, a mini fridge, an umbrella, mosquito spray, four bottles of drinking water, coffee and tea-making facilities,...

Blu Sentral Hotel - Tawau, Sabah

Image
Blu Sentral Hotel is located in Kubota Sentral, surrounded by plenty of dining options, and Tawau Airport is just a 30-minute drive (28km) away. The hotel is a converted shop lot with only two floors. Guests need to tap their key card in the lift to access the room level. The lift itself is small, but thankfully it doesn't feel stuffy. The corridor is strongly air-conditioned, which feels especially refreshing after returning from the heat outside. We stayed for two nights in a deluxe twin room, which featured two single beds, a wall-mounted smart TV with limited channels (but Netflix and YouTube were available), a work desk, a wall-mounted hair dryer, two pairs of disposable slippers, coffee or tea-making facilities, two complimentary bottles of drinking water, individually controlled air conditioning, and basic toiletries. However, we noticed that one of the bottled drinking waters had already been opened and partially consumed, which was disappointing. For added convenience, a w...
