Amari Spice - Penang

Amari Spice Penang is located in Bayan Baru, just 11 minutes drive (5.8km) from Penang International Airport. The hotel lobby looks elegant with its high ceiling and awesome lighting. The welcome drink is only available in the hotel lobby during the afternoon. We arrived at night and spotted a royal car with a red carpet on the floor, as well as a few police officers.

We stayed in a deluxe room that comes with a king-size bed, a smart TV with limited channels, an in-room safe, a hair dryer, a mini fridge, an iron, an ironing board, two pairs of disposable slippers, a working desk, a weighing scale, air conditioning with individual temperature control, complimentary Wi-Fi (fast connection), four complimentary (glass bottles) of drinking water and toiletries. Apart from that, there's a jug of complimentary nutmeg candy, but it's too sweet for my liking.

The room is clean and pleasant. The bed is very comfy, but a little too soft. There are two types of pillows: soft and slightly firm. The shower area is separated from the toilet area with its own transparent cubicle. Water pressure is normal, but there's inconsistency between hot and cold water. Apart from that, the water is really hot. The shower gel is pink and leaves stains on the shower bottles. The bathroom comes with a sliding door that cannot be locked.

Hotel facilities include an outdoor swimming pool and a huge fitness centre located on the 5th floor. A key card is required for access to the guest room floor.
