Sydney - Day 9 (Sydney Fish Market - Pyrmont Bridge - Darling Harbour - St Patrick's Catholic Church - Sydney Observatory Park - Sydney Opera House - Sydney Harbour Bridge)
It's our final day with Daz and Sam in Sydney. They dropped us at Epping Station around 10.30am and we took a train to Redfern Station to meet up with Shyan and Leo for lunch. We bid goodbye and thanked them for the warm hospitality. When we reached Redfern Station, Shyan and Leo were there to greet us. They brought us to their car and we left our luggage there before taking a Uber to The Little Snail Restaurant & Bar.
The Little Snail Restaurant & Bar is a European Restaurant in Pyrmont, located near the Darling Harbour. They are famous for their escargot. Shyan bought their lunch set meal $ 40 per person that comes with an entrees, mains and desserts. I chose salt and pepper calamari (lightly coated in panko, fried with petite mesclun, capers and cornichons aioli) as my entree while my partner chose Escargots De Bourgogne (dozen snails marinated in herb-infused, court bouillon, oven baked in garlic butter). Calamari was good. It's crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I had my first taste of escargot and it's not that bad. It's tender and taste something like mushroom.
I ordered Magret De Canard (crispy skin duck breast fillet with wok tossed spinach served with cassis and raspberry sauce) for my mains while my partner ordered fillet of beef tenderloin served with potato millefeuille and red wine jus. Leo ordered seafood plate of grilled salmon comes with garlic prawns, salt & pepper squid, chili mussels, beer battered soft shell crab and mesclun salad while Shyan ordered chili prawns and basil linguini comes with garlic, chili and lime juice tossed with olive oil, roasted tomato concasse and fresh basil leaves.

We had kahlua infused chocolate mousse and chef churned hazelnut & praline ice cream on shortbread and Grand Marnier caramel for our dessert. Overall lunch was good except for my chocolate mousse dessert which was a bit sweet for my liking.

After lunch, we walked to Sydney Fish Market together with Shyan and Leo. It's approximately 12 minutes walk (900m) from The Little Snail Restaurant. It's a large marketplace selling fresh seafood, wine & baked goods, fruits and vegetables. There's place for you to sit outside the market to enjoy your take away food but watch out for seagulls!

Shyan and Leo head back to their office after that while we continued to explore Sydney on foot. We went back to Pyrmont bridge, passed by Darling Harbour, St Patrick's Catholic Church and stopped by at the Sydney Observatory Park. I saw a charming garden wedding at the park. The timing was just right as I saw the bride walked down the aisle.

The bridge stairs is just 8 minutes walking distance (600m) from Sydney Observatory Park. We head up the bridge stairs then followed the sign to the Sydney Harbour Bridge and walked across the bridge. There's pedestrian walkway on the eastern side of the Sydney Harbour Bridge that offers great view of Sydney Opera House. We ended up at Milsons Point Station and took a train back to Redfern. We followed Shyan and Leo back home. We stayed with them on our final night in Sydney. Leo cooked us a wonderful dinner that night. We had grilled lamb, omelette, fried broccoli with carrots and Korean soup. After dinner they drove us to Coles for our final night shopping.
