Sydney - Day 7 (Pitt Street - The Strand Arcade - Queen Victoria Building - Town Hall - St Andrew's Cathedral - Hyde Park - St Mary's Cathedral - Anzac Memorial - Paddy's Market - Chinatown - Chinese Garden of Friendship - Pyrmont Bridge - Darling Harbour)
Daz and Sam took two days off from work just to accompany us. They did all the planning and we just happily followed our expert tour guides. :) Temperature was 14℃ in the morning and we went out around 10am. We walked to Kellyville Station from their house and took a train to Town Hall Station via Chatswood Station. Our first stop of the day was Menya Noodle Bar, 6 minutes walking distance (500m) from Town Hall Station.
I had their Tonkotsu Menya Ramen comes with roasted pork, fish cake, bamboo shoots, shallot, sesame seed, dried seaweed and seasoned boiled egg. You can choose either shoyu, miso, salt or tonkotsu broth. It's nice to have a bowl of hot ramen on a cold day. My partner had Tonkotsu Cha-shu Lover's Ramen comes with extra sliced roasted pork, fish cake, bamboo shoots, shallots and sesame seed. You can choose either shoyu, miso, salt or tonkotsu broth as well. Sam had Miso Cha-shu Lover's Ramen while Daz had Miso Kara-age Ramen comes with deep fried chicken (kara-age), fish cake, bamboo shoots, shallots and sesame seed. You can choose either shoyu, miso or salt broth.

Sam and Daz brought us to The Galeries, a shopping centre not far from St. Andrew's Cathedral. We walked to the 2nd level and had the famous strawberry watermelon cake from Black Star Pastry. It's also known as the world's most instagrammed cake. The pastry shop is located in Kinokuniya Book Store. However, we're not allowed to take any photos of the pastry shop or their pastries. I wasn't aware of it and accidentally took a photo of their pastries. One of the staff working in Kinokuniya immediately asked me to delete the photo on the spot. Actually, I'm quite curious why we're not allowed to take photos of the pastries but I didn't ask the staff as she wasn't very friendly.
Anyway, there's no place for us to sit at the pastry shop so we had it at the food court instead. Daz insisted on paying and they bought two pieces of strawberry watermelon cake and a piece of pistachio lemon zen cake. Love the strawberry watermelon cake. It's delicious, not too sweet and the watermelon makes the cake so refreshing. The cake is moist and not soggy.
