Miri, Sarawak - Day 3 (Miri Waterfront - Borneo Heritage Handicrafts Centre - Tamu Kedayan - Tamu Khas - Tamu Muhibbah - Coco Cabana)

It's our last day here in Miri and we decided to have our brunch at WZT Cafe just 8 minutes walking distance (600m) from Pullman Miri Waterfront. Due to the heat, we were so lazy to walk and ended up we drove there. We ordered a plate of chicken rice from George's special chicken rice stall and a plate of dry noodle. Chicken rice is good. The rice is soft and fluffy. Besides that, chicken is tender and juicy. I like the fact that they sprinkled some sour plum powder on top of the chicken. One plate of chicken is not enough for us and we ended up ordered another plate of chicken. Their chili sauce is good too.

Dry noodle on the other hand looks dry but surprisingly it turned out to be good. The price is cheap too for a bowl of noodle. My partner ordered teh ice (ice tea with condensed milk) and it's nice. Not too sweet and the combination of milk and tea is just perfect. Overall, we enjoyed our brunch and will definitely come back if we're back in Miri.

We checked out from Pullman Miri Waterfront around 1pm and dropped by Miri Waterfront. The Waterfront is just 2 minutes walking distance (190m) from the hotel. A seahorse statue was the icon for the Miri Waterfront.

We stopped by Borneo Heritage Handicrafts Centre for another round of souvenirs hunting. Majority of the stalls are selling the same thing. I made a comparison for the sling bag that I bought in Miri Handicraft Centre at Jalan Brooke and seems that the price here is more expensive. Apart from that, it's non air conditioned and it's a bit stuffy. We spotted a local lady smoking a handmade cigarette. She looked so cool with her handmade cigarette that I was so tempted to take a photo of her. Initially she was rather shy but ended up she agreed.

Our next stop is Tamu Kedayan, their local market. There's three local market - Tamu Kedayan, Tamu Muhibbah and Tamu Khas which is located next to each other. Among the stuff selling are vegetables, fruits, flowers, plants, dry food, spices and poultry.

We had our late lunch at The Vintage Tea House. It's a family based business tea house. We were the only customer at that time and they have quite limited tables. We ordered buttered tea deep fried pork, long bean with minced meat and a bowl of Long Jin tea rice. Overall the dishes are nice and flavourful. I like their Goji tea as well. The sugar level is just right for me. However, the Long Jin tea rice is a bit hard for my liking.

On the way to the airport we dropped by Coco Cabana. It's one of the tourist attraction within the city centre. However, the area looks a bit dead in the afternoon. Majority of the stalls were closed.

We returned the rental car at the airport around 4.30pm. The whole process was fast and easy. While waiting for our flight my partner bought a cup of Boost juice. It was rather sour for me and ended up he drank the whole cup. Our flight delayed for 45 minutes and departed around 7.30pm. The flight journey took about 50 minutes and finally we're back home. Holiday ends, work begins...
