Manchester - Day 2 (Old Trafford - Manchester City Centre)

There's nothing like getting a full night's sleep! We woke up feeling refreshed, restored and all geared up, ready to visit Old Trafford! Everyone was very excited because for most of us it's our first time here. We wanted to have our breakfast at the hotel but tables were all fully booked until 10.30am. So, we ended up at Home Sweet Home just 4 minutes walk from Premier Inn Manchester Central.

I had homemade fluffy waffle topped with scrambled eggs, crispy streaky bacon, blueberries and maple syrup. It was good. Waffle was fluffy and light, perfect with berries and syrup. I just love the blueberries as it's sweet and juicy. My partner on the other hand ordered full breakfast that comes with scrambled eggs, streaky bacon, sausage patty, tomatoes, flat mushroom, cheesy house hash, beans and buttered sourdough toast. If you want to add black pudding you can just ask. It's free of charge but we didn't request any because we were too full.

After breakfast, we walked back to the hotel and took a break of 15 minutes before we gathered in the hotel lobby. Since there's eight of us, we split into two groups of four and took an Uber car to Old Trafford. It took us about 10 minutes to reach Old Trafford. We hang around Old Trafford, visited the Megastore and some souvenirs shop and took as many photos as we can outside the stadium.

We hang around Old Trafford for 2 hours before heading back to Manchester. We had our late lunch at the food court in Manchester Arndale. A good selection of food but very crowded. I had Tex-Mex food while my partner had Chinese food! I ordered crunchwraps supreme from Taco Bell, comes with seasoned beef, nacho cheese sauce, lettuce, diced tomatoes, sour cream and a crunchy tostada shell wrapped in a warm hexagon shaped flour tortilla. You get to choose from either Mexican chicken, seasoned beef or refried beans.

A set of crunchwraps supreme comes with one side and a refillable soft drink. Refillable soft drink includes Pepsi Max, Pepsi Max Cherry, Diet Pepsi, 7Up Free, Lipton Ice Tea Peach, Robinsons Apple & Blackcurrant, Tango Apple Sugar Free and Tango Orange Sugar Free. I fell in love with the Tango Apple Sugar Free drink. It's just so refreshing on its own.

We decided to go our own way after our late lunch and gather again with the team for dinner. So, me and my partner hang around Market Street, St Ann's Church, St Ann's Square and St Mary's Catholic Church also known as The Hidden Gem (the oldest remaining Catholic church in the city). My partner was too lazy to walk around the city and we decided to take the free buses. Metroshuttle are free buses with three routes linking the main rail stations, car parks, shopping areas and businesses in Manchester. You may check out for more detailed information about the free buses by visiting their website. (Transport for Great Manchester) I always love visiting churches and cathedrals. Unfortunately Manchester Cathedral was closed to visitors when we reached there around 6pm.

We joined the rest of them team for a drink followed by dinner at Hard Rock Café. We had a great time chatting while enjoying our dinner that night. Instead of taking Uber back to our hotel, all of us decided to take a night walk. It took us about 15 minutes to reach our hotel. I just love the cold night weather. Temperature was around 10'C that night and it gets really cold when the wind blows... Both of us experienced acute jet lag and decided to called it a night as we were too sleepy to go for second round.
