Le Pont Boulangerie - Old Klang Road

Image
Bring me to a dessert shop and I'm a happy gal. :) It's a weekend and my sister in law decided to bring us here to try their cakes. I was impressed with their colourful mini cakes selection and not to mention the price was impressive as well. We ordered 5 types of mini cakes but it doesn't taste as good as it looks. The shop was quite empty when we walked in and the environment was cozy and clean. Nice place to sit and chill where you can relax with a friend. Restaurant ambience Mushroom over flower - RM 15.90 Double layered brownies - RM 14.90 Mandarin not Mandarin - RM 14.90 Saint Honore - RM 14.90 Tiramisu in disguise - RM 15.90 Address: Le Pont Boulangerie (Old Klang Road) Lot 6, Jalan 1/137C, Batu 5, Jalan Kelang Lama, 58000 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Tel:  +603 7783 0900

Caffebene

Bingsu is a Korean shaved ice dessert topped with varieties of ingredients such as fruits, red beans, condensed milk and fruit syrup. I had my first Strawberry Bingsu at Caffebene Sunway Pyramid and it was good. I love the gelato, strawberries and even though I'm not a big fan of red bean, the combination was perfect. My second visit to Caffebene was at Imago Shopping Mall in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. This round I decided to try their  Cookie and Cream Bingsu. Turned out to be less refreshing compared to the Strawberry Bingsu but at least the cookies were crunchy. Finally on my 3rd visit to Caffebene, my friends decided to try their  Green Tea Bingsu. Slight disappointment because this round the ice texture was rough and green tea flavour was very mild. Overall, I still prefer their Strawberry Bingsu.  It is cooling and refreshing, one of the best dessert to beat the heat. Four steps to eat your bingsu based on Caffebene's instruction card: 1. Kakigori - Petaling Jaya

Image
Happiness is enjoying a bowl of cold shaved ice. So here we are at Kakigori, located at Taman Paramount, Petaling Jaya. Kakigori means shaved ice in Japanese. This shop serves few types of Kakigori such as Tiramisu, Uji matcha, Uji macha brulee, Japanese pumpkin, watermelon, strawberry, chestnut milk, avocado, guava and hojicha. Tiramisu has always been my favourite dessert and without thinking twice we ordered it. Apart from that, we ordered a slice of  brulee choc D24 roll as well.  First mouthful of Kakigori Tiramisu tasted heavenly. However it doesn't taste as good as the first mouthful as we continue eating it. Ended up we couldn't finish the whole bowl. On the other hand, Brulee choco D24 roll was good. Durian flavour was very intense and the cake was moist and soft.  Shop ambience was pleasant, relaxing and cold. Yes! It was so cold that we started shivering after eating half the shaved ice. Kakigori practice self service ordering, collection and returning. Place

Outdark - Subang Jaya

Image
My blog was idle for more than 3 months and during that time I was so unmotivated to do anything. I was in my dream world and glad that finally I'm back on track. After a long break, I decided to blog about Korean food. I owe my special buddy a big favour and no matter what I have to treat him a good meal. So we ended up at Outdark SS15, Subang Jaya. This restaurant has a dim lighting and it was packed with youngsters. We ordered Cheese Kingdom - spicy Korean chicken leg meat wrapped with cheese, serves with assorted side dishes such chewy rice cake, seaweed rice, kimchi, pineapple and sweet corn. The portion was big enough to feed three adults. We requested for a less spicy chicken leg meat and it turned out just nice. However, chicken wrapped with cheese was way too cheesy and after our third piece, our appetite vanished. Among all the side dishes, seaweed rice was my favourite but you need to eat it while it's hot. Else the seaweed rice tends to dry out and harden.

Coffee Terrace (Shangri-La's Rasa Ria Resort & Spa) - Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

Our stay in Shangri-La's Rasa Ria Resort & Spa comes with buffet breakfast for 2 adults and two days in a row we had the same breakfast. Buffet breakfast is available from 6.30am to 10.30am. Restaurant is clean and well organised. There's Korean, Japanese, Indian, Chinese, Malay and American breakfast available. What I enjoyed the most was the orange, apple, watermelon and pineapple juice freshly made. On top of that, there's variety of fruits such as snake fruit, red apple, green apple, dragon fruit, Australia pear, red melon and oranges wonderfully displayed in a basket. You can even request the friendly staff to cut the fruits for you. Of all the buffet breakfast that I had so far, this is the only buffet breakfast that serves ice cream! You can make your own banana split but I like to sprinkle on top the ice cream with almond flakes and nuts. Overall breakfast was satisfying and we were too full to have lunch and ended up with early dinner for both days.

Teppan-Yaki Kozan (Shangri-La's Rasa Ria Resort & Spa) - Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

We decided to have our dinner at Teppan-Yaki Kozan on our first night at  Shangri-La's Rasa Ria Resort & Spa . There's two options for you to choose from - either dine inside the restaurant watching the chefs in action (chef grills various cuts of seafood, meat and vegetables over a large iron hotplate (teppan) in front of the customer) or take a table on the terrace (open air). When we reached there at 6pm, tables on the terrace were all fully booked for the day and they only left the dine in restaurant for 6.30pm slot. After some hesitation, we agreed to take the 6.30pm slot. We were seated at a Teppanyaki counter and the chef was right in front of us demonstrating his cooking skill. They have limited menu and you can either ordered their Teppanyaki set menu or a la carte dishes. We ordered one Akita set and two a la carte dishes. If you are a small eater, basically one Akita set is enough for 2 person. Overall taste wasn't impressive at all and this is the m
