Hotel Grand Continental Kuantan - Pahang

Last month, we drove down to Kuantan, Pahang to meet up with a friend. It was an impromptu trip and we stayed at the Hotel Grand Continental in Kuantan. Since it was rather last minute, we managed to get a deluxe twin room through Agoda website. The room comes with selected Astro & local channels, LCD TV, fully air-conditioned (centralized air conditioning system with low or high settings), free wifi (very slow internet connection), free parking for in-house guest, coffee & tea making facilities, 2 complimentary bottles of mineral water & bathroom with hot/cold shower.

The room was clean but old. Water pressure was strong and hot but the bathroom was dimly lit. Only 1 lift available during our stay in this hotel and luckily the waiting time was still manageable. Free parking for in-house guest located just beside the hotel. It's an indoor basement parking without any security guard and it was dark. The car park staircase does not connect directly to the hotel lobby. If you are a single lady travelling alone for business trip, it's advisable that you parked your car outside the hotel - RM10 per entry.

The Pines Restaurant (Kinabalu Pine Resort) - Kundasang, Sabah

Our stay in  Kinabalu Pine Resort  comes with breakfast for 2 adults. Breakfast start from 7am to 10am. They only serve ala-carte breakfast and you need to pre-book it at The Pines Restaurant latest by 9.30pm for your next day's breakfast. There's Malay, Chinese, Western or kids breakfast set. Apart from that, there's free flow of Tenom coffee, Sabah tea, mango and orange juice. Hounon Ridge Farmstay & Camping - Kundasang, Sabah

Hounon Ridge Farmstay is located at Kampung Himbaan Bundu Tuhan, 36 minutes drive from Kundasang town. The road heading to Bundu Tuhan is very steep and narrow. There's no street light and driving at night can be hazardous if you are not familiar with the road condition. Be particularly alert when driving and watch out for cows, chickens and stray dogs on the side of the road. There's 4 types of room available. If you are the adventurous type and not afraid of cold, you can even camp outside Hounon Ridge Farmstay. Our room was on the 1st floor overlooking Mount Kinabalu. Great view and you can slide the glass window to get some fresh air.
