Sandakan (III) - Day 4 (Sandakan Town)

On our last day in Sandakan, we woke up at 9.30am and checked out of Livingston Hotel at 11.30am. We left our luggage at the hotel's storage and took a Grab to Restaurant Ocean King Seafood for lunch (Grab fare - RM 7). We had steamed sea bass, baby lobster, and stir-fried baby kailan. The steamed fish was fresh but slightly firm, and the sauce lacked a bit of punch. The baby lobster, on the other hand, was tasty. Its flesh was tender and succulent, making it the highlight of our meal.

After lunch, we walked to Iogurt Cafe for dessert and tried the mixed berries yogurt at RM 6.90, topped with almond flakes for RM 1.50. The yogurt was creamy with a pleasantly sour taste, but the almond flakes didn't taste very fresh. However, after a few bites, the yogurt tasted rather good.

At 1.40pm, we took a Grab back to Livingston Hotel (Grab fare - RM 9) and arrived at 2.10pm. We collected our luggage and then took a Maxim ride to the airport (Maxim fare - RM 6.60). Since we had some time to spare before our flight at 5.40pm, we relaxed at Kopi Saigon. My partner ordered a mini chocolate roll and a glass of peach tea. The chocolate roll was sweet and a bit hard. The tea was average with too little ice, but the jelly toppings made it much more enjoyable.

Boarding began at 5.20pm and our flight departed at 5.40pm. We were on a 45-minute AirAsia flight from Sandakan Airport to Kota Kinabalu International Airport. Our tickets cost RM 119 per person, with an additional RM 81 for 20kg of checked luggage. The flight was smooth, and we touched down perfectly at 6.17pm, marking the end of our journey.

We had planned to check out of the hotel at 12pm and board a train to Dongguan at 1pm to meet with one of Ben's potential supplier. However, the plan was cancelled as the supplier was unable to make it and Ben only notified us after we checked out of the hotel at 12pm. Guangzhou - Day 2 (Canton Fair Complex - Beijing Road)

I woke up early in the morning with a swollen leg, but luckily it is still not that painful when I walk. I couldn't go back to sleep since there's a mosquito that keeps buzzing in my ear. It seems that the pesky insect didn't bother my partner as much as it did me. Anyway, we left our hotel around 10am to look for food. Whenever we travel, I will prepare a list of food itineraries. However, I do not have a complete list this time since I am unable to read Chinese characters. There is very limited information available online in English. There are a few famous restaurants on my list, but I'm not sure if the addresses are correct. So, we asked the hotel front desk about the nearest Guangzhou Restaurant. Hong Kong (III) - Day 1 (Golden Bauhinia Square - Hong Kong Art Centre)

Hokkaido has always been on our travel bucket list, and now we are finally going. Since there is no direct flight from Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) to New Chitose Airport (CTS), we decided to make a stop in Hong Kong for two nights. We purchased a return ticket from KKIA to HKIA with Air Asia (RM 972.71 per person) and a return ticket from HKIA to CTS with Cathay Pacific (RM 3,019.88 per person). We were notified the night before that our flight would be delayed for two hours. So we left home at 9.15am via Grab (Grab fare - RM 14). When we arrived at the airport, we found out that the flight had been delayed for another 30 minutes. Since we had plenty of time, we decided to relax and enjoy breakfast at McDonald's.
