Eastin Hotel - Kuala Lumpur

Eastin Hotel is just a short walk from the Phileo Damansara MRT station. We stayed one night in a deluxe king room, which featured a king-size bed, a work desk, an LCD TV with a limited selection of channels, an in-room safe, two pairs of disposable slippers, an iron, a wall-mounted hair dryer, complimentary Wi-Fi, two complimentary bottles of drinking water, coffee or tea-making facilities, a mini fridge, toiletries and self-controlled air conditioning.

We parked our car at Basement 1 and took the lift up to the first floor for check-in. The process was quick and hassle-free since there were no other guests around. Our room was located on the highest floor (18th floor) and accessing it via the lift required a room key card.

Our deluxe king room was spacious, but it clearly showed signs of age. The furniture appeared outdated, and the sliding door of the cupboard was broken and wouldn't slide. The TV offered only a limited number of channels, and strangely, it displayed the date as 10th July 1970. When I took out my camera to take shots, it changed back to 8th April 2025! The bed was comfortable, but the air conditioning took a while to cool down the room. Thankfully, it worked better by nighttime and kept the room pleasant for sleeping.

The bathroom came with a bathtub, but unfortunately it wasn't as clean as expected. The biggest issue was the shower. The water temperature kept fluctuating wildly from scalding hot to freezing cold, making it impossible to enjoy a proper shower. It was one of the most frustrating shower experiences I've had in a hotel.

The hotel is currently undergoing renovations and they placed us on the top floor, which was unaffected. The hotel allowed us to extend our checkout to 1pm. Parking was RM 3 per exit, and you will need to validate your ticket at the front desk before leaving. The hotel has a gym, a tennis court and a swimming pool (no lifeguard on duty). Overall, the shower contributed to a rather uncomfortable stay.
